Hi all:
I have a place lined up where the property owner will let me shoot clays. I am thinking about investing in a low cost launcher for some practice sessions. I would often be shooting by myself but sometimes with a friend who could man the launcher so it sounds as if I need something with a footpedal to launch or something that will automatically launch at present intervals?
Something that obviously holds a decent amount of clays too. Does such a machine, in the $300.00 to $400.00 range that is not a piece of junk exist? Need to be fairly light and portable. Anything with variation or oscillation would be a huge plus but this is probably too low budget for that? I am spoiled by the Atlas Trap Co AT-250 Oscillator that we use for teaching the Boy Scouts how to hit clays, but $2k plus the size and weight make this impractical for me from a budgetary and size weight standpoint. In a perfect world, I could have the launcher in the bed of my truck, preloaded, back up to my spot, put down the tailgate and start shooting. Then close the tailgate, put my gun in the truck and go home. That's probably just a fantasy ;-) there will have to be lifting, loading, hassling and cursing involved, right?I would like to hear about your experiences with inexpensive electronic clays launchers. A one at a time mechanical launcher isn't going to work for my needs.
