Give us some idea of what your spending limit is and maybe we can help.

If you are talking a Browning or FN marked Hi-Power the lowest I have seen NIB recently was CDNN who was selling standard MKIIIs with combat sights for $695 shipped to your FFL.

They blew out the old FN market guns a few years back for as low as $500 IIRC.

You can find Izzy Surplus guns with finish wear for under $400+ shipping. I see used commerical BHPs of all kinds go for $500 to $600 in the used market.

If you are looking at clones like the FEG or FM they can be found used for around $250.

cdnn currently $679 new epoxy finished base model, you can find almost new or excellent condition models for $450-$550 for mate or pakerized models on gun broker and you can buy used adjustable sight blued models for $599, $650, $699 in excellent to 98% all day on gunbroker.

The used surplus ones are really only worth about $350 and have very little resale value, better to stay with ones that are stamped browning manufacture, made in belguim or portugal only. As they will not be surplus imports.

Watch out for new or refinished models there are a lot of ppl selling refinished hi powers as new old stock, so watch out, here is a recent example that looks like a refinished model to me - http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=239127027 if you look close at the sharp metal angles that should be there on all fn or browning HP you will see that on this gun they have been ground off . Indicating possible refinishing.

The lowest price I have EVER seen for a High Power. I paid $217 out the door for a NIB Browning High Power from a retail store.

Note the FEG'S that SOG has are not true browning Hi Power Clones , they are a slight varient and are easily distinguished by the 1911 style slide release.
1911 style slide release http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=240348190 note not all parts interchange and slides are even different.

A true browning hi power clone will have a FN or Browning hi power style slide release.

I gave $300 for my Argentine about 10 years ago. I was shocked to see a wholesaler sellingt them about 6 months ago for $389. I almost bought a spare.

My friend bought a nazi HiPower that had been poorly chrome plated and equipped with plastic pearl grips for $125...it shot great.
I bought my 1973Charlie with lots of finish wear for $250.

NIB Browning, 2008, made in Belgium, assembled Portugal, fixed rear sight, $420 + $15 to ship from a GB auction. I thought it was a good deal (still doesn't have the trigger of a 1911 though!).

Picked up a couple for $300

With one exception the most I've paid was $400

That one exception was $435 for a Nazi marked one... ended up selling it later for $800.

Picked up 5-6 under $400 in the last 4-5 years.

I bought a like new FM Hi Power for $250 3 years ago. Have seen good used FEGs and Charles Dalys for about $300 and picked up a FEG last year. Would rather have a Browning or FN but nothing wrong with a 100% clone. (Not all FEGs are true clones.)

$108 for a NIB at Bucky's in Idaho Falls, ID in 1969. A "T" model that is still the sweetest shooter I own.

A few years back, CDNN was selling bunches of FN High Powers for around $450; you'll see them there from time to time at very reasonable prices. I wish I had picked one up at the $450 price, but didn't have the urge or the money at the time.

I picked up a T-series for $300 about 10 years ago. The barrel is now damaged, and I'm thinking about getting Bar-Sto to install one for me.

A $108 in 1969 is not a cheap price, back then minimum wage was
$.085- $.090 cent per hr. My dad woked at the US steel plant retired after 35yrs. and only brought home about a $140 a week in 1969.

Now if you still work at any existing good union job your making $20-$25 hr.

So a 1969 $108 is almost equal to a 2011 price $725-$950

It took a weeks pay to buy one then and it takes at least a week or more pay now.

We paid $350 for our Charles Daly (FEG) Hi Power. It was on close out at Cabelas a couple years ago.

It is a great shooter, the only thing I don't like is the XS sights.

Unless it is a showpiece, don't pay extra for the Browning name.

$125 for an Arengtine Hi-Power about 9 years ago. Had a pretty worn finish, and a not-so-great refinish attempt, but shot like a dream.
