What is the most formidable looking carry gun?

I have THE answer.

In the movies when whoever is displaying an impressive pistol, the gun of choice is the Magnum Research Desert Eagle. I would recommend the one in 50 AE. In that gun, the 44 Magnum cartridge is too wimpy.

Yes, it is possible to cary one concealed if you're big enough and wearing a coat.

I could never imagine actually carrying a full size Desert Eagle in 50ae... they are just too big and heavy. That is why I opted for a Desert Eagle L5 in 50ae which has a 5" barrel instead of a 6" barrel and is nearly 2 lbs lighter. My L5 is lighter than my Dan Wesson 744 with its 4" barrel and is a LOT softer shooting than the heavy Dan Wesson with its 8" barrel and muzzle break.

I can't think of any front silloutte that is more recognizable than a Desert Eagle.

I wonder if a 454 would actually be more damaging to the human body than a 50ae with Gold Dots? Sure the 454 does definitely have more power but would the damage actually be worse? I know I can make a much quicker follow up shot with my DE than I can with my DW 44.

Not angry, but negligent, but I got a good look at the yawning chasm of a loaded 12 gauge once from far too close.

Never shot with that idiot again.

Not so much the firearm but the kit worn with it holstered, usually seen with the special divisions of LE. For a firearm itself is when I see LEO's with the extended mags in their Glock or S&W M&P's holstered.

Any gun that Clint Eastwood is holding. ;)

This might be the goofiest thread I’ve seen today.

Who here really thinks that you’re going to take the time to notice what kind of gun is being pointed at you by a bad guy? Or vice versa?

If you are dumb enough to become fixated on that minutiae you’re probably going to get shot in the face, which is unfortunate for you but probably beneficial to the gene pool.

I’d suggest focusing more on trying to get away if you’re unarmed and you can, or get to work with your blaster if you are armed and have no other choice.

No offense but this seems to be spoken from a theoretical stand point.

It seems other, including myself, speak from experience and I can say that image is definitely burnt in my memory.

One with a BIG hole in the barrel. The degree of fear that a weapon can instill in someone is directly proportional to the size of the hole in the business end of the barrel. :D

This is based on?

I've pointed a .40 at a wannabe robber and had him tell me F-you. He walked away but I didn't notice any fear.

The degree of fear that a weapon can instill in someone is directly proportional to their belief that you'll use it.

Yes, the Walker is hard to beat.

Of course end on, the muzzle of a 3-inch GP100 in .44 Spl. isn't much different from the Walker's .44 round ball ...

I'm terribly sorry about my response but What does looks have to do with the usefulness of a carry gun? Do you think you'll be able to scare the bad guy away before you will have to shoot them?? Guess I'm a cynic.
