What is the Purpose of This Accessory?

I reckon I’m behind the times, I’m not sure what this is. First time I have seen this.

Is it a lockdown for the safety lever for competition so it does not accidentally get engaged?

Is it a gas pedal for the strong hand thumb?

Or is it for both?

It doesn’t seem to interface with the slide lock lever because the lever can not go down any further anyway.

By all means please educate this ignorant soul.

Since it's not attached to anything I suspect it's an alternant shape for the mag release that's shown installed.

Yes, it is one of the replaceable mag release buttons sold for the CZ Shadow 2 pistols. An extended one is mounted on the gun.

That setup is a lot bling-blingier than my Urban Grey S-2.

Yeah, me too. CZ had a neon blue and green grip-parts option for the S-2, and one with some enhancements that has neon orange stuff. I passed on those for the subtle look.

Even when plated and primped like a South Beach pimp, are all amazing pistols though .
