What is the WIERDEST Gun / Caliber you have ever fired?

Polish anti-tank rifle. 7.62x107mm. Basically a .50 BMG round necked down to .30 and fired from an oversized Mauser. Over 4000 FPS. Amazing recoil. The second shot split the shot bag that I had between the butt and my shoulder, and I passed on further chances to fire that fine machine.

Iver Johnson .38 smith & wesson safety hamerless

I still shoot it once in a while if i find the ammo at a reasonable price, the stuff stinks big time on indoor ranges.

M72 LAW with training rounds, not really a gun though, more of a rocket launcher

PTK, you need to show that one to me if we get out to the range again!

The most unusual thing I've fired was probably PTK's 40mm launcher! Fun stuff. Or the silenced Nagant revolver...

I shoot Martini Henry 1/2 action style rifles in 360 no. 5 and .300 Sherwood, so I'm not a good judge of wierd. This is the action of the 360, a MH type action but with an exposed center hammer.

Sweet!
Keep 'em coming.

One of my project rifles is one of those Nepalese Gahendra Martini-Henris from International Military Antiques and is part of that legendary horde that was uncovered in Kathmandu, Nepal.

The barrel is made of converted railroad steel, and it shoots the .577-450 Martini Henri cartridge.

Should be interesting.

Peabody-Martini in 40-82 Winchester. Nothing weird, just rare rifle in a rather well known and highly regarded caliber/chambering. Another is an original Borchart patent Sharps in .45-2 9/16" after a $10,000.00 restoration. Wow, what a piece of history!!!

Two come to mind, both made by Butch Searcy (Searcy Ent.)
1. .577 Nitro Express. year, 1998, where, Botswana, Elephant hunt.
2. 700 Nitro. His range. My, but didn't it kick!

For the Lebel. I know where there is several boxes of pristine Rem-Umc ammo in the beautiful old dark green boxes, as nice looking as the day they left the plant. Sucker won't let go of them. He also has 303 Savage virgin Winchester unprimed brass in the old bright yellow boxes.

Does a Terrier BW-0 missile count? We almost shot ourselves with it. After launch at least one of the wing fins fell off and it left the guidance beam. Instead of self destructing it looped around and came back over the ship passing between the forward and aft stacks just missing the electronics array. For firearms I carried in my hand I'd say the LAW, the 348 and the 25-20.

7.62x45mm Czech out of a Vz-52. Very accurate, very nice combo of power and moderate recoil.
