I have a sword I want to sell, but not really a sword guy and dont know much about them. The pics will tell you what I know about it. Ridabock sword. Guy I bought it off of has had it since the 70's, he said some old ww1 vet gave it to him. He thinks it is early 1900's. No scabbard :(

It appears to be a U.S. Army officer's sword, 1902 type, which is still the current pattern.

Ridabock was a military uniform supply place, long defunct. Theirs was one among a number of brand names found on these swords.

What I came up with suggests Ridabock's was in business from 1880 to 1940: http://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1CHNV_enUS400US400&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=ridabock+1880-1940

So your sword cannot be newer than 1940, I would think, and may be as old as these things come.

Not sure what it's worth, or how to pin down the time frame more closely.
 
Googling for "Ridabock sword" brought up a bunch of results, including discussions on a few forums wherein the membership really seemed to know their stuff. Might be worth checking out...
