What is this gun?

It is really hard to see the outline of the action with the back shadow on the wood. Any chance you could send some better pics. ? Do you have the rest of the gun? Pics of that would help.

Generally, threads with only pictures and no question or comment are deleted as a Drive By, which is against the rules. And no, thread titles do not count as the question. But since this has grown legs and members are trying to help, I'll leave it in place.

I will get more pics of action tonight. Friends gun so I'll have to wait till we get off work. No stock came with it. Trying to figure out what it is and make a new stock.

That's a fascinating old barreled action and I'm surprised it didn't get moved over to the "Firearms Research" section, which is another interesting spot where lots of neat old stuff appears.

Would it be a crime to have more pics of antique firearms on the forum for people to compare with what they have or have seen?

Not yet.
But don't give ideas to the gun grabbers.
This one would be crazy enough to get passed.;)

Thanks for sharing and best of luck with re-stock project.
I enjoy seeing and sharing different types of stuff like yours.
Sort of a virtual gun show and 'Price is Right' episode (as you formulate a guess as to value and then
go to researching to see how close you were!) all in one.

I am blown away with the rear sight adjustments.
It looks? as though
turning the square head bolts will give you fairly precise adjustment.

Interesting, it sure looks like Mk 211's Haenel but not like the one Frank DeHaas shows.

I have only seen one in person and that a long time ago and I don't remember which flavor it was.
