G-19 with a Streamlight TLR-1....
Exactly! That's why I have a S&W Model 10 next to my bed. It does take awhile to wake up, and you don't want to be reacting to some dream.A Ruger 1911 without a round in the chamber. I worry about being awakened and grabbing a cocked and locked gun. I need a few seconds to wake up. I figure if I have time to get up, I'll have time to work the slide, which takes a very conscious wide awake effort. Also, a J frame .38 at another location, not near the bed.
I suppose a man's decision for a home defense weapon must be partially based on where he lives.
Wouldn't you likely end up with permanent deafness if you ever pulled the trigger on that gun while inside your home?I have several handguns that can fill this role however I feel my smith and wesson model 29-3 loaded with .44 mag hydrashoks fit the bill the best. However a mossberg 590 is the primary HD weapon.
I actually have before and Im not deaf.Wouldn't you likely end up with permanent deafness if you ever pulled the trigger on that gun while inside your home?
Huhhhh....Say what ? I can't hear you. Speak up ! I see your lips moving.I actually have before and Im not deaf.
You heard what I said, Ive shot a ruger supet blackhawk indoors with no hearing aid, ammo used was 180 gr remington soft points, dont believe everything you believe on the internet saying youll go deaf after 1 magnum round, otherwise quite a bit of cops wouldnt be able to hear.Huhhhh....Say what ? I'm glad you can hear. Really ! Especially glad you are obviously OK, and survived the event. Hope all else went well, too.You heard what I said, Ive shot a ruger supet blackhawk indoors with no hearing aid, ammo used was 180 gr remington soft points, dont believe everything you believe on the internet saying youll go deaf after 1 magnum round, otherwise quite a bit of cops wouldnt be able to hear.
I aint saying that it didnt ring the hell out of my ears but it appears to me that hearing damage comes out of continious loud noises and not a sudden burst of sound.
