What is your favorite camp or woods revolver?

In the woods I almost always carried a Charter Arms 5-shot 357 Mag. with a 3.5" bull barrel. Its the cheapest revolver I own but it's compact, powerful, accurate & has a nice trigger pull. What else is there?

Revolver is always a Cimarron Model P 5.5” in .45 Colt loaded with 255 gr LSWC over 8 or 8.5 (don’t remember off the top of my head) grains of Unique.

I keep a double mag pouch for my M1 Carbine on my cartridge belt.

Partly in case I want to carry it around as well, but mostly because I’m a huge nerd.

That being said, last couple times I’ve been tooling around the property I’m allowed to wander, I’ve been packing a 1911 in .45 ACP.

Bout the nastiest thing I might run onto on the ranch is a mean old pasture poodle.. A Pre WWI K-22 will handle that.

Of course there's usually something a little bigger on my belt.
Did some cattle ranching in my day & unfortunately could not keep doing it. Love all dogs, good horses & every critter God placed on this earth for us to enjoy. When I die if God thinks I deserve it & gives me a choice I'll go back to the beautiful ranching life. And when I'm out there I'll still carry (just for fun) a good pistol or revolver.

Feral dogs are the single biggest threat around here- they are fast, tough to hit, and often travel in packs, so a six shooter isn't optimal.:(

Feral humans come in second place, followed by Snakes and Gators. I avoid the latter two pretty easily.

Honestly, a Glock 17 is probably the most practical "woods pistol" anywhere in FL- though a semi-auto shotgun is even better.

But, for funsies, if I were going to carry a revolver around in the swamp, it would be this one:
