What is your favorite rifle to hunt with?

does your 550 have sights the 550 is next on my list. great combo btw.

It doesn’t and I seriously wish it did. I’ve tried to justify having iron sights installed but instead spend the money on better optics. Unless the scope failed on a hunt far from home I’d never use the iron sights and even then I probably wouldn’t because I’d have another scope with me in QD rings. My eyes aren’t good enough anymore to use iron sights at any meaningful distance. I just like the look of iron sights.

Here’s a not very good picture of it on my back porch.

very nice i like that 512, there are not many 550s on cz's website hope they are not thinking of discontinuing them. every cz i like gets the boot for some reason. i like the 527 American in 6.5 grendel to.

I haven't been hunting with any of my six rifles,I just started buying them three and a half months ago.

Depends on what I’m hunting, when and where but I use an XP-100 every chance I get.

Life is too short for just one gun.

I have four guns bought under the guise of I am buying/building it for deer season that I have yet to take a deer with. Hopefully a few of those will notch their first this season. Sometimes the way I hunt is dictated by the gun I want to hunt with, sometime it's the other way around.

If push came to shove though and I had to pick a favorite I would probably say my Winchester 9410 (Win 94 chambered for 2.5-inch 410). I have hunted everything from dove to deer with it.

... I also like an oiled wood finish as opposed to something real glossy. That being said, over the past few years an oiled wood finish rifle in stainless has come to be my definition of the perfect looking rifle. Yours fits the bill 100%. To me it is a beautiful rifle that’s fun to just take out of the safe occasionally and admire.
Ah, the deception works! I love oiled wood stocks, too. But they are not light weight. This is a brown McMillan composite meant to look like wood. It sort of works. Definitely not wood when you have it in your hands. Feels good, though. Thanks for the compliment.

Yes I was totally fooled.

TC Encore muzzleloader in .50 using the original fiber optic sights. It is like this gun was made just for me. And deer fall heavy under its fire.

It hurts to think I might not go hunting this year. Got the OK yesterday from the physiotherapist to go to the range two hours today for exposure to noise (with ear protection, of course). Will try the .223 newly restocked and trigger bettered. It has been hitching for two months now!

Hi...
I have several rifles that are more than adequate for big game hunting but I always seem to take my Savage 7mm Magnum with a Luepold 3x9 scope.
Very accurate, doesn't weigh much and I don't have to worry about messing up the synthetic stock.

I don`t have a favorite or every rifle I own in my favorite. I take 4 rifles to deer camp and on any given day during the days hunt I may chose a different rifle. The hard part is choosing which 4 I am taking deer hunting.

Browning left hand A Bolt micro in a 7mm-08 has been the go-to since I brought it home. In crummy weather, the 7mm mag stainless stalker big brother, also in left hand. When I feel nostalgic, my old 99 Savage in .308
