What is your favorite rifle?

Out of state son-in-law used my Rem factory Stainless 700 in .270 Win, after-market Timney trigger, adjusted for cold weather hunting, a little less than 3 lbs. It's action and a few inches of barrel are epoxy-bedded. About 10 years old, she shoots sub-MOA and has killed several Maine deer in the Central Maine area, where I live. Most have been on family property. I learned that scopes are at least as important as the rifle, so use mostly Leupolds. This is a 3-9X. The factory stock is well-figured, but not showy. My son-in-law shot a nice deer with it last year at about 100 yards down a woods road. He said that the rifle fired and he saw the bullet hit exactly where the crosshair was at 100 yards. I said, "Of course, where else would you expect it to hit? (You and I both know that our rifles are adjusted to hit about 1 1/2" high at 100 yards, but you can't tell "exactly" where the bullet hits when recovering from offhand-recoil. Still, it was surely, close to where it was sighted-in.) You may not remember my telling about shooting a running buck at 100+/_ yards, left-handed with this rifle...from my tree-stand a few years ago. It continues to please all who shoot it.

I ordered this .270 Win rifle through a "good-buddy" part-time dealer, who sells guns to friends and acquaintances. She's been my favorite C.F. since. She shoots as good as any hunting rifle I've ever shot. It's pillar-bedded and free-floated, so maintains zero quite well. It "aint" bad to look at, either!

Man if we could find a threaded 45 Colt lever action rifle at dealer pricing we'd try it out for the fun of it. 250gr at 800fps with a big suppressor would be sick. How do you like the Rossi?

It’s great! I don’t shoot everyday so i couldn’t justify $300 more for the Henry. I liked the action better anyway. I payed $600 it’s worth every penny

Just finished - well, almost finished - this .54 caliber flintlock kit today, and I figure it's going to be my favorite rifle for the foreseeable future.

Tough choice, but probably my favorite is a White Oak Precision AR that is built for HighPower. I also scored Rifleman with it during an Appleseed several years ago. It's a tack driver for sure. Much more accurate then I am.

This little Ruger American Ranch in 7.62x39 has become a favorite centerfire of mine. It is pretty accurate with 123gr HPs. I like my Nikon 3-9x42 and the mini-30 mags. It is a fun little lightweight compact rifle. A joy to carry.








And this old .40 caplock is an ancient family heirloom that I shoot and hunt with occasionally .
I am particularly partial to my BP guns and will quickly call them my favorite... without hesitation .

Wow - that's tough. My Pedersoli Sharps in 45-70 right now but I have a Shiloh Sharps in 45-90 on the way, so pretty sure that will become #1.
