What Is Your Most Expensive Gun?

I have three that are close in price. They are:

Armalite AR-50 -- $1700 with scope, rings and case.
CMP M1 Garand Collector Grade (unissued late 50s H&R) -- $1400
DSA SA58 Para Congo -- $1400

Since my previous post where I mentioned my Custom AR ($2200+) and my custom FN FAL ($1400+) I have added the following top dollar items to my collection (as well as quite a few $500-$800 pieces):

HK 91 (Original not a clone) for $1800

Kimber 10mm $1000

338 Garand... that's like a "Fatty 14" or somethin. Seriously, that's so odd it's cool.

I spent over $800 building a custom DA triggered Colt 1991... I may have guns that are worth more, but that's the most I spent at once.

Probably a Remington Model 581 bought in 1967 for $49.95 because it led to spending an additional $100,000 or so over the next 40 years.

Most spent would be a S&W Registered Magnum at $3,000 about two months ago.

Most valuable due to appreciation would be a Cogswell & Harrison .375 double rifle purchased nearly 30 years ago for $1,800 that is now worth around $8,000.

well it would have been my Springer lightweight 1911, at about 750, but i just have sunk a ton of money into my savage to get it tricked out, so that takes the cake at a total cost to date of 3,150 bucks, hart barrel, mcmillan stock, leupold scope, badge rings and base.

need to get a new trigger, probably a jewel, so add that to the total and there you go. Who knows when everything will come in to be assembled, will have it out gunning for deer in the fall though.

Not quite the ultimate price.

A friend of mine years ago was quick drawing his $250 revolver. Practing with a loaded weapon without the benefit and wisdom of professional instruction cost him his leg. What's a leg worth?

My Model of 1941 Johnson rifle - Paid $1900 in 2003 for it, but not sure of present value since it's going up so fast (something > $6000 + nowadays!)

It shoots great, has perfect bore, all original military configuration, but due to the originality of it and the astronomical cost rise for original parts, I have decided to 'safe queen' it to protect its collectibility from now on.

I've got guns that are worth more, but I usually built them or restored them over time and all the labor costs are mine. I'd hate to see how much a Krieger-barreled M14NM would run somebody were they to go out and buy one all set up.

SAI M1A National Match to Super Match designation (now) - originally low serial (#057xxx) standard grade SAI w/ 95%+ USGI parts
Heavy Kreiger barrel
cryo'd barreled action
unitized gas system
glass bedded
NM sights
Boy's walnut stock and handguard
a small pile of USGI magazines & ammo
Lastly, the worst part of this rifle. . . . SAI Gen III scope mount

This rifle shoots 1" groups at 200 yds with handloads.

$2,000 cash.

Not sure which was the most expense but have about half a dozen that run about a grand each. couple AR's, three 1911's and a low numbered Fed Ord M-14.
