What knife for Bear?: The Japanese Solution

I want a good Case Bowie IF I had to fight a bear.

Yeah...........I'll take a 4' bastard sword if I'm gonna use a blade to engage a creature 5 or 6 times my size with 5" long claws.

Yeah, I'm not thinking of cute little Asiatic bears when I envision a bear attack. I'm picturing a half ton of this:

As much as I like my Cold Steel knives that made me laugh.

It's a neat knife. It's not $500 worth of neat.

I actually had one of those knives, not the same brand but the same design.

I wouldn't have thrown it away if I had prior knowledge of it's bear killing potential.

Other than that it was nothing more than a dull kitchen knife.
