I'm sure many of you know about this. Look, I don't care if you like Sturm-Ruger or not, but I just found out that Ruger offers a link to email all your representatives at once. That means your elected house, senate, state attorney general--everyone you voted for or against--with one click. What surprised me more is that they claim to have sent 5 million of these--that's a lot, but if we all take 5 seconds, we can make it 6 million. Just click a link below and send a message. You won't re-grow hair, but you'll feel instantly better about yourself :D

Haven't used their site, used NRA's site to send 15 letters to my congress critters along with Pres, VP, and Speaker of the House. Probably will bet 2-3 more out this week. Also consider that S&W is doing the same thing. Might be much more than you think when you consider all the options.

I've been sending a message through the Ruger contact about once a week now for the last month. Smith and Wesson has a similar deal. The letters are worded a little differently. Both these are good but your own words are better.

Mine went out weeks ago.
I have also been using PopVox and getting responses from my reps and senators. Whether it does any good, who can say? But they know where I stand.

Not to blow a hole in your boat but most of the interns that read letters for politicians just round file form letters.

It's better if you write personally.

While I support involvement with this issue, and have sent MANY letters myself, I haven't used Ruger's site to do so. Nothing against Ruger's support on this issue, I'm just pointing out that their site isn't the only way that people can send these letters.

Regardless, more people who care about this issue need to start sending letters up the chain. Too many folks complain, and do nothing about it. It really is sad.

Did that 3 months ago......

I received responses about a week ago from 2 of the politicians.

Form letters do get trashed, but the topics of the letters and phone calls get totaled up daily/weekly, and looked at.

Politicians go where the political winds blow them, e-mailing, snail mailing, and calling does have an effect.

It only takes a few minutes to type my own thoughts and hit the send button. Just because I haven't used a form letter doesn't mean I haven't made my voice heard.

That's great. Many of us are using congress.org to send our letters so there's lots more than just that number. NRA also has a similar site.

I'll point out that's 5 million via the Ruger site. How many have been sent via the NRA, S&W's site, or just plain old email? Point is, however you send them, keep sending.

5.42 million sent as of today. Please, send another round of emails everyone. The antis are not stopping, so neither should we.

Exactly, time to send another round and dig our heels in. April 8th they will be voting on the national level for some of these un-Constitutional Bills, our representatives are on recess until then in their home states so now is the time to let them know how you feel.

My thread in activism on my latest letter.

I did it a few weeks ago, was really surprised to get responses from about 1/3rd of my elected reps (I live in a fairly anti district of Virginia).

Keep pushing Warner 'Mr. A Rating' flip flopper. Tim Kaine is basically a lap dog for Obama, but it doesn't hurt either to tell them both that you will actively campaign against them if they do not honor their oath of office and the 2nd amendment.

Remember the best way we can retain our freedoms is to contact our representatives constantly. This is our battlefield for the time being.

I sent too, knowing all the while, these form letters carry no weight and receive no attention whatsoever.
