What pistol parts have you broken?

Just curious about what you've broken. Not concerned about failures to feed, fire, or eject, as those can usually be fixed with a spring, some polishing, or ammo change. What have you BROKEN?

1) - slide stop on a Springfield 1911 (cheapo aftermarket one)

2) - trigger "transfer bar" (I think that's what it is called) on an HK USP-40

Glock 34 Frame, G17 Extractor, USGI 1911 barrel lower lugs, Kahr barrel(defective material), Kahr front sight, cheap copy M1 carbine op-rod, Charles Daly(cheap copy) 1911 bushing and ambi safety.

Edit, Mags, can't forget the mags! Broke lots of Glock 10rd mags and a few Wilson 10rd 1911 mags.

my wallet.

and four Glock extractors, one Glock frame rail, one Glock barrel, I now have been assured I'll never break another Glock part, I don't have any more Glocks.

:banghead:

Jennings J-22 extractor. Twice. :barf:

I had a Taurus M66 that would eat firing pin springs. I don't have that gun anymore. I had a couple parts break on separate occasions on my CZ-100. I don't have that gun anymore either. The Jennings is gone too, come to think of it. I'm starting to see a pattern.

Bought a gun with broken firing pin, pretty common in Spanish auto's I guess, easy fix. I don't dryfire them anymore without a snapcap.

If you've never broken a gun, you just ain't shooting enough! :)

Extractor on Colt GM and Charles Daly EMS each ~8000 rounds. Replaced myself. Both been fine for a couple thousand rounds since

Link on RIA at about 3500 rounds, over 9000 more since the repair (did it myself) with no issues since.

Slide cracked on EAA Witness 10mm Compact <300 rounds. Replaced under warrenty. About at the point where it cracked now, should pass it next time out with it.

Kahr CW9 frame rails warped on first box of ammo. Repaired under warrenty been fine since, porbably a bit over 2000 rounds thru it since its return.

Keltec P3AT assembly pin walked out and boogered up the frame before I noticed it, gun kept shooting despite the damage, had a couple of hundred rounds thru it. Replaced under warranty, fine for ~800 rounds so far.

S&W M22A "hook" at the back of the frame broke somewhat over 1000 rounds, causing 50+% mis-fire rate. Repaired under warranty, probably over 5000 rounds thru in now

I won't mention parts than were bad out of the box.

Nothing yet, but I once bought a Colt auto with a broken right-side stock from the previous owner tightening the screw a bit too much. Easy enough to replace.

MIM firing pin stop on a S&W 1911 at about 10,000 rounds.

What wally said though...if you've never broken a gun, you haven't been shooting enough.

My wallet!
+1 :) Aside from that: nothing, yet.

This gem from a lad with whom I used to sail, "You haven't sailed much if you've never sunk a boat."

Are you referring to parts that have broken and disabled the gun, but only after a lot of shooting? I've had a couple of those: a trigger bar spring on a SIG P228 and a slide lock (the piece of metal with serrated tabs on either side that releases the slide from the frame) spring on a Glock 19. The first one disconnected the trigger linkage, the second caused my slide -- with the barrel and recoil spring still attached inside -- to launch off the front of the frame.

In another category are parts that break through defects or faulty design. These all happened to one gun of mine, a SIG Revolution Carry 1911. They replaced the entire gun after the third breakage. And then that one had compromised safety engagement and has had to be repaired. I just can't win. :(;)

Broken firing pin on winchester 94/22mag. Replaced it myself. Broken firing pin on rem. 700, and mossberg pump shotgun. Broken mini 14 when I tossed it out the window, scope and all.

I didn't really break it but sure messed it up. Fire'd my Colt 45 acp way too much at an IPSC game and seized the barrel bushing to the barrel. To the point it had to be broken to get it to move again. It galled into the hot barrel and there it stayed.:banghead:

KelTec P11 ejector tip broke off while shooting. Discovered it when it stopped ejecting.

Rear sight on Glock 26 went flying off while shooting.

Let's see...I blew up my Glock 21 w/ some bad ammo and another time, I was shooting w/ a buddy and trying some HOT 10mm ammo through his 1911 and at the end of the session, he noticed the frame had cracked & he swore the cracks were not there before hand...do those count?

CZ 70:
Magazine bent in disassembly.
Firing pin broken in dry-fire. Trigger return spring (whatever it is that makes the trigger solid. Now it swings in the breeze) broke after I finally bought the firing pin. The pins that hold it together, too, have been... mauled, shall we say.
I think it'd cost more to fix it than it did to buy it. :neener:

Keltec P11: Firing Pin (twice), Slide Stop, Ejector (twice)
H&K P7M10: Drop Safety Spring (twice)
S&W SW9VE: Striker
Taurus 905: Firing Pin, Transfer Bar
S&W 617-6: Firing Pin

Yeah, I do a lot of dryfiring, and all but one of those firing pins were broken with snapcaps in the chambers...

Something just broke on my PC 952-2. The hammer drops, and 25% of the time it goes bang. The other 75% it's no bang, no mark from the firing pin on the primer...nothing. It's at S&W right now for repair. It just proves, very expensive guns also break.
