The main drawback of the .350 Remington was the rifle with which it was paired. The initial 600 Remington was a bit light, resulting in recoil much like an irritated mule on angel dust and barrels were short. Therefore it was never terribly popular. It is however, short enough to work in a standard action. If you reload, it should be a dandy.
It was probably comparable to the light single shots chambered in .35 whelen, and .45-70.I’ve read the intent of the 600 was as a guide gun. Even with that a magnum cartridge in a rifle with an 18.5” barrel just seems to be a bad idea to me.
Muzzle brakes come with their own issues, especially when hunting with others. Ive never been a huge fan, but recently one of my hunting partners got a little to far forward on my right when i touched off my .350 legend (which deafened me for most of the rest of the day). I found out last week he still hasnt recovered his hearing completely, and has other issues since.Recoil is no worry now days not like the past with muzzle breaks like the large one I have on my Eddie 30-06, that recoils light like a 243 so I would pick the 30:06 for larger mule deer or bear 200 220 gr
Dad built a xp100 in 350rm it was quite fun to shoot. It was probably comparable to the light single shots chambered in .35 whelen, and .45-70.
Honestly Id love to have a .350 model 7, but I THINK its a little long for the 7.

So while they are wonderfully effective, and great for the range, I wont have any on my guns unless I can turn them off, or have a BFD to cover them with. While I MAY chose to hunt with and expose myself to the blast from a braked rifle, I wont do it to someone else again.
That's pretty close dad even had a Burris lol. His had a manners or McMillan stock I can't remember. tho. Plus a radial break .Loonwulf, I've seen this rifle listed on GB for a while. Nice full stock design but the caliber and price tag aren't my personal tastes.

If you really want to go short barrel, maybe this is more like it. Like Troy mentioned.

Now that you mention that rifle, i THINK ive seen it before.....might have been what got me started on the model 7 in .350 idea...for some reason it seemed like it would be a little long for the action, but obviously it works.Loonwulf, I've seen this rifle listed on GB for a while. I should probably try a set of those, I cant stand wearing earmuffs, too bloody hot. In ear stuff dosent usually bother me.I purchased an in-ear set of electronic hearing protection to try next time I'm shooting outdoors.
