I have several of the Magpul single point setups and they are excellent for quick deployment.I was personally looking towards the Magpul basic 2 point, but I cannot fathom how a few bits of hardware and a nylon strap are worth $35, that can't really be even close to the fair cost of a basic sling can it?
I recommend the padded version.I was personally looking towards the Magpul basic 2 point, but I cannot fathom how a few bits of hardware and a nylon strap are worth $35, that can't really be even close to the fair cost of a basic sling can it?
It's been soaked in Travis Haley's pit sweat.. . . but I cannot fathom how a few bits of hardware and a nylon strap are worth $35. . .
Affectionately known as the Nutcracker. . .I have several of the Magpul single point setups. . .
Every time I've tried a single point and performed a transition I swear some part of the carbine hit's me in the nuts, either when I drop the gun, or while moving.
Basic GI M1 green web sling.
It worked then and it works now.
Single-points may look cool on TV, but that's about the result I get when I try to use one... ^^^
I use the M1 Carbine green web sling... with the quick adjuster. No, it's not silent, but it works very well. It is still the best sling I've found for sling-assisted shooting, and particularly when you transition from hasty to full-up.
I don't normally use a sling in normal use, anyway, but there have been times when it would have been handy. I really need to look into something a little more 'useful' than the M1 sling... but, like the OP, I have a hard time spending the loot on what might turn out to be another dust catcher in the box on top of the shelf.
