Most likely a .700 Nitro Express loaded to maximum pressure and fired out of a gun with no muzzle brake. At the very end of the video that guy removes the casing from the chamber. It is HUGE.
I'm not sure, but maybe something in the .460 category?
My favorites are the guys who've let the rifle come to rest on their biceps and not pulled it tightly into their shoulders. I've seen the kind of bruising a 7mm magnum causes in such an instance, I can only imagine how those guys arms are going to look.
Yeah, the .700 sounds like a good candidate. Personally I draw the line at 45/70: if that isn't enough to stop what I'm shooting at I'm going stop hunting that animal.
It's a big game rifle in .577 Tyrannosaur, as it says at the beginning of the video.
The video is from Accurate Reloading. These guys have been video taping suckers shooting that rifle for several years and then circulating them on the web.
The T-Rex has a nasty rep for kicking like something much bigger. It's not surprising that most people don't know what it is since that really kept it from catching on.
I don't think it is funny to give someone a gun and watch the recoil "surprise" them. It just isn't funny, it is how anti gunners are born. How can you watch ANY of those recoil vids and then talk about "safe handling"?
Recoil is something you have to learn to handle. These poor idiots, if they ever pick up a gun again are going to have the worst flinches in the world. Shame...
I also can't believe someone would do this to their wife / daughter / girl friend / friend... There are about 100 people on this board whose SO's are anti and stuff like just made a possible non anti look stupid and get hurt and possibly be afraid of shooing another gun...
Most of the flying gun is the 577. If you look closely at the guy in the blue shirt at the 1:25 mark, he is shooting something different and I believe it's the 460 Wby Mag. The very last one IS the 700 Nitro Exp, if you have seen the clip without the music you can hear the hang fire from when he pulls the trigger and it actually goes off.
And in addition to all said previously, whoever actually OWNS the rifle doesn't give a damn about it... look how many times it's been allowed to be slammed on the floor.
