I found another el-cheapo Camillus that was only a few dollars. Not really a fan of serrated blades, but it was too cheap not to buy. I’ll give it a whirl today.

For the last 3 and a half years I have always had a Spyderco Military on me. Three of those years it was a standard black G10/satin S30v version , often (but not slways )paired with a smaller Emerson or Benchmade folder.

The last 6 months or so the only folder I carry is a Knifeworks exclusive green G10/ satin CTS-204p Military.

The little Schrade Karambit is my "get-off-me" knife.

Case peanut daily. Queen teardrop awith liner lock, D2 tool steel. Yep, " it will cut"

Just got this ESEE Avispa this weekend, so I guess now I have to change my vote (3 1/2"). It's now in the rotation with my Kershaws. Sadly, this ESEE is not US made.

Today I'm carrying the Cold Steel Voyager XL clip point in one pocket, and an Ontario Utilitac II, tanto point, in the other.

Chinese Ganzo G729. Fantastic knife and an incredible steal at $15. Use it everyday at work, stays sharp for a good long while and touches up easily.

My current favorite is a limited run Buck Marksman with S30V blade.

When carrying on my belt, I like any of my Buck Folding Hunter 110s.

For dress office carry, I will select one of my Case knives, lately it has been the RussLock with mammoth tooth scales.

I carry folding knives, Buck USA.View attachment 795922

It is hard to beat Buck. Recently, my son took his Marksman apart to give it a good cleaning, and he could not get it back together as the bearings kept falling out. He sent it to Buck for repair, and a couple weeks later got a mildly chastising letter about how taking his Buck apart voids the warranty. A few days later, a brand new knife arrived as a replacement. No charge.

Buck is pretty easy to beat in terms of modern folders. The Marksman is their best modern design and it has a borderline dangerously weak bias toward closure. Any company that says disassembly voids warranty is a big no for me - I don't buy knives from companies that restrict my ability to clean and maintain my tools. Other companies have much broader portfolios of better designed and executed modern folders.

Buck may have been the worthwhile company 30 years ago, but I would say not any longer. I have sent my Benchmade knives back in pieces and have never gotten a chastise letter back. I broke the pocket clip off my Infidel and they had 3, with screws, in a padded envelope sent out the same day I emailed them.

Wenger Swiss Army knife ~3" with can opener, fingernail file, and screwdriver/bottle opener. Lousy metal in the blade. Sharpens easy and dulls even easier. I also have a Boker TopLock converted to auto but I've stopped carrying it since I don't have a sheath for it.

I generally carry two. One fixed, and one OTF or folder. I always have a pocket knife. That is a Benchmade Infidel 80% of the time, or the Stryker Auto the other 20% in my right (strong side) pocket. If I'm packing (90% of the time) I'll also carry a small fixed blade. I have a Kershaw Echo in a custom kydex sheath mounted on my spare mag pouch on my off side. Need to get another sheath made for those few times I'm not packing. Great little knife, that came with a crappy sheath. Finding a guy that does kydex is nice...

I carry a Buck 444 with a thumb assist for rough cutting; boxes and packages. It's a throw away; I bought two of them, like new, on Ebay, this year for $20 shipped after the lock started failing on the 10 year old one I had. Then a Case small Trapper (or half trapper as the second blade is a pen) That's for whittling and minor surgery. That one's been around here since 1973. The main blade on either is 2 3/4".
Sometimes I carry a Swayback Jack.

Am I the first to mention Emerson Wave?

I love the Wave. So simple, yet it comes out fully open. Of course I think other than Emerson, Southern Grind & Kershaws nobody else makes them. I'm pretty hard on my EDC so right now I carry the cheaper Kershaws.

I prefer a clip point but there not terribly popular so I have to settle for an elongated drop point.

The two with the professionally drawn arrows pointing to them are what I'm going back and forth between currently.

The one on the left (middle of the pic) is a Benchmade Presidio Auto I and the one on the right (the FDE tanto) is a Gerber 06 FAST assisted opening. 26105207817_c7fbc05b64_o.jpg
