Either:
Chicago Cutlery folding lockback
Spyderco Manix 2
Spyderco Manix 2 XL
Microtech Ultratech (either of a set)
Benchmade 51 Balisong
etc.

In my pocket right now is the Manix 2 but I carry one of the Ultratechs most often

During the week, I carry a small (2 inch) slip blade knife (Case, Uncle Henry, or French Laguiole). I work in a federal office building, and there are laws against anything over 2.5 inches.

When I'm not at work, for years my go-to knife was the Spyderco Delica. Great blade design, light, easy to open, decent size handle. It did everything I asked it to.

Recently, I've become somewhat enamored of the Spyderco Military. Its a similar blade design the Delica, just bigger with a much bigger handle (nice for my slightly larger than average hands), still light and easy to carry. In AL there is no size limit on folders so I've been carrying the larger Military.

My every day first into the pocket along with my keys knife is a plain and simple Victoronix SAK that I bought in 1883. It is well worn and used but does most of the jobs that I'll need a knife for during the day. the In the back pocket will go either my Boker Kalashnikof auto or, if going cross state lines, the Kershaw Leek.

I have carried a knife since I was young. I still remember the first knife my father let me buy myself from K-Mart...a Barlow slipjoint single blade. I was so excited to use it that before we even got out of the parking lot I opened it just to stared at it's mesmerizing blade. Father was driving and put the car into reverse...so I decided to put the knife in my pocket. well, I immediately closed the knife on my finger and almost took the end of my pointer finger on my left hand off. So sharp I hardly even felt it at first but my brothers face told the story. First I laughed, then I cried...then I blew snot bubbles all over as blood oozed down my hand and eventually soaked into my socks.

I tell you, the look on my mothers face as she glared at my father for letting me get my first knife is something I still remember well! It also helped me to learn to respect knives LOL

Am I the first to mention Emerson Wave?

I love the Wave. So simple, yet it comes out fully open. Of course I think other than Emerson, Southern Grind & Kershaws nobody else makes them. I'm pretty hard on my EDC so right now I carry the cheaper Kershaws.

I prefer a clip point but there not terribly popular so I have to settle for an elongated drop point.
The Wave doesn't work in some situations where you'd really want a knife to open fast. If you're on your back or are pinned to a wall it's very difficult to open a knife using the Wave feature.

As far as other makers officially doing the Wave, Spyderco offers the Delica and Endura with licensed Wave openers. Kershaw's premium sister company, ZT, made a two or three Emerson licensed designs, each in a standard version and an even more premium materials variant.

The utility patent on the function of the Wave has expired. So, anyone can make an opener that functions like a Wave as long as they don't call it by the trademarked Wave name. Off the top of my head, the Viper Italo has a wave style feature, and there are at least a couple of models from Cold Steel that do as well.

On the redneck engineering / DIY mod side, you can use a zip tie on almost any knife that has an opening hole on the blade a clip that allows tip up carry. Here's a video someone posted on YouTube showing this:

Of course there are odd situations in which no knife is going to work. The wave is just the simplist of ideas. As the redneck version you reference shows.

Wow. Yes. The patent did expire end of 2017. I'll look for more models. Emerson did trade mark the name so as you said nobody can call it Wave without a license from him.

A no-name cheap 3” Chinese made knife. It’s a beater work knife that can clean monocoat away from conduit, cut duct tape away from pipe or concrete, or any other dirty and abusive work. I don’t necessarily like it, but it works for now.

Typically I carry a CRKT M21 with a 4 inch blade. On occasion, I will carry a OKC RAT3, which is a 4 inch fixed blade. And regardless of what I have in my pocket or on my belt, there is always a CRKT Sangrador, a 5.5 inch bladed double-edged dagger, in my jacket and a Benchmade Arvensis, a 6.5" clip point fixed blade, and a SOG multi-tool in my EDC bag.

The M21 and the RAT 3 with my Fenix, which I also EDC.

My EDC for the last couple decades has been a Greenaway folder. It has been a great all around work knife.

In some cases I'll also carry a lefthand Terzuola folder.

In particular if I am using a holster that partially cover the right front pocket the Terzuola gets to see some sun.

Nice BobT. The first custom/production collaboration I had was a C15 Terzuola aluminum. It withstood endless abuse.
