What "Unique" factory guns do you own??

Daewo DP-51 Triple action

I used to have a Daewo DP-51 Triple Action. Interesting pistol.
Trigger is of “triple action” type. This means that other than traditional double or single action fire modes it has “fast action” mode, apparently borrowed from FN’s GP “Fast Action” pistol. In this mode hammer is cocked by the cycle of the slide, then it is pushed forward by the pressure on the hammer head. In this position, the main spring remains cocked, so only light pressure on the trigger is necessary to recock the hammer and fire the gun in the “double action manner”. Or, alternatively, hammer can be recocked manually to be fired in single action for maximum first-shot accuracy.

I have a Star Megastar in 45 ACP. It has the Starvel finish and is a 12 round gun. I have not seen another one since I bought this at any gun stores or at any of the gun shows. Also have one of the Daewoo DR200 rifles. Those I will see once in a great while.

Woodsman second generation (1954). Colt SAA second generation (1966). Winchester mod 94 .30WCF (1948). Grandfather's .38 short Rimfire pocket revolver (age unknown)

A few years ago, I picked up a Western Field No 5 pistol in .22lr at a gun show for the princely sum of $150 (it came with the original box, magazine, holster and a "proof" target dated Apr 1954). I can barely remember Montgomery Ward catalogs, let alone one with firearms listed. On doing some research (and reading this thread), I found that this was produced in the Unique factory in the Pyrenees as the Corsair/Model D. The finish is in the 95+% range, and I have field-stripped and cleaned it (had a LOT of sludge to remove internally). I consider it one of the "rarer jewels" in my collection.

I think Sears sold some Uniques as well. I see megastars but not often and I don't think I've ever seen the 10mm version locally. Mags are a pain to find.

I also like my Daewoo DP51 a lot.

Introduced in 1954, the Unique Model D is a modification of the earlier Unique Model 52. The basic differences between the various D models are barrel lengths and grips. The Unique Model D6 with 6" barrel and thumbrest grips was marketed in the USA under the name "Corsair".
It was sold through various outlets here; with the factory markings & "Corsair" on the slide, with J.C. Higgins (Sears) markings as the "Model 85", and Montgomery Wards as the "Model 5". J.C. Higgens even offered a 15-round magazine option.
Numrich lists both 10 round and 15 round magazines currently (albeit pricey) under JC Higgins 85.

S&W 629 8-3/8" pinned and recessed- only supposedly 200 made

S&W 60 2" bbl with adjustable sights-someone here also has one

S&W M&P Target model with a humpback hammer- Xavier Breath here says it's uncommon and probably a special order gun. I'll say one thing for it, the action is so smooth it feels likes it's broke.

Very nice folks. Don't know how rare it will be. I have my great-grandfathers squirrel gun, a Winchester model 1892 Pump chambered in .22 WRF.

I have a 3" 66-4, non ported for RSR.

A 586-5, pre lock, PC L-comp.

A 3" 686, pre lock, CS-1 NIB with box and docs. TJ

cpirtle that is a nice looking Whitney. I have never seen one that was nickle plated. I am assuming that is an original from the 50's. Do you have any of the newer ones, I see them listed all over the internet but have not taken the plunge yet.

Thanks Acera.

That's a factory nickel job but they only made around 500 that way. I think the last actual count I saw quoted 470. It's one of the originals so being 50 years old and so few made very few people have ever seen one. Heck, I've only seen 2 other blued ones!

Never tried one of the remakes but I have not heard a whole lot of good about them. I was thinking of taking the plunge but just never did it. Would like to have one I'm willing to shoot!

I have a few rare ones.

1) A sample of the NYSP S&W M520. This is a fixed-sight N-frame chambered in .357 Magnum. Not to be confused with the recent M520.

2) A 2-inch .22 LR SP-101.

3) A Les Baer TRS Home Defense. This is a Monolith Heavy with TRS markings, thin grips, a light rail, fixed sights, and a Streamlight M3.

this one i was told its a smith model 1

I have a blue Beretta 84F that I put a barrel in from a stainless model. So it's all blue with a stainless barrel showing in the open slide. I bet that's one almost nobody has.

First generation 900serial number Steyr AUG (excellent condation), and first generation Walther P99 (german markings) and 5x 16rd mags (non LE marked). Not that impressive to other postings in this thread.

This is low rent compared to the other firearms presented in this thread. I have a thumbhole stock variant of Ruger's K77/17. I've never seen it listed as an option on their website.

Wow, I guess I'm pretty lucky because many of these guns I have own or own or I have at least seen them for sale locally. I didn't realize how rare a P&R 629 8 3/8" was.

A friend of mine that passed away, he had one ANIB, the last gun he ever purchased.

This is a good thread though, keep it coming, it really jogs the memory. Anyone remember that Unique used to make a .22lr pistol you could convert in to a rifle?

Wow. Some of these guns are really impressive firearms. We've got some lucky owners on these forums. Thanks for sharing.

The only one I have that remotely falls into the category of an unusual factory gun is my special run 4" S&W 586-7 (blued, 7 shot cylinder). One of 1000 in 4". 1000 in 6" also for a total fun of 2000.

The gun isn't very unique, but the markings are. A NRA 870 Wingmaster.

Another one that is actually pretty common, esp in Europe. But thanks to import bans (or no thanks) not an over abundance of them in the US.

A Dragunov Tiger Carbine. Along with some of the extra stuff I have picked up over the years.
