Mine was a 20 gauge Winchester Model 12 shooting clay pidgeons at a Boy Scout event. I got a Marlin 795 .22 for Christmas that year, and started shooting my dad's old Colt Officers Model that hadn't been touched in 20 years. The next Christmas I got a Ruger Mini-14, and my parents are going to get me a USP 45 come my 16th birthday or Eagle Scout, whichever comes first.

First was a .22 rifle at summer camp. Not sure the make or model.

First handguns were Glock 17, Glock 19, Glock 30, H&K P7M13, and an Infinity 9mm. Shot them all the same day. My buddy has a nice collection and this was only a small part of it.

My first gun was a Daisy .17 that a friend gave to me after he shot his cat and her mother beat the crap out of him. That was circa 1987. I kept it for almost 5 years, then I trade it for a skateboard.

While I was in New Mexicco State University back in 1996 I went to my roomate's home (he is Navajo) At the reservation I shot a shotgun, can't recall brand, and a Remington 700 in .308

Finally, the gun that I learned to shoot was my first gun: a CS9. A very reliable little blaster, accuracy is not that bad.

Far as I can recall the first gun I shot was a bolt action .22 at a Boy Scout camp. A few years later I got a Winchester .22 model 60 from my grandad and started shooting on a regular basis with friends when I was in high school. Then bought another .22, and then a handgun, and things kinda snowballed after that.

Remington 870 20 gauge. I've been told I shot a .22LR as a kid, but I don't remember. So the 20 gauge wins. :p

A T/C Hawken rifle in .45 cal. My dad had to load it and place it on a table for me to shoot, but I was hooked.

An old Daisy shooting strike anywhere barnburners.....

My first gun was and is a Sears 22 bolt, I begged for a year and a half to get it and it cost me $22 and change over the counter.

My first school was with an M16a1 in the Marines

first handgun was a 1851 navy clone

first centerfire handgun was a Taurus tracker

Ruger 10/22.
Shot it for the first time at about 5 years old in the woods behind our house. My dad got me started.
Forgive him, for he knew not what he did.

That would be this one, a High Standard Double Nine. Dad taught me how to shoot it when I was 8 or 9, about forty years ago. It's the first one my kids shot, God willing and Hillary don't get elected it'll be the first one my grandkids shoot.

First gun I ever shot was about a year and a half ago. Took the "old" Basic Firearms Safety Test. The instructor had us all shoot the 1911. A few different models, but that is all we shot. I've since tried all the new da/sa, polymers, etc. and still can't shoot as good as I did my first night shooting!

Dad's Marlin 39.

He learned to shoot with it and so did I. I love the takedown feature. He started me off with shorts, then longs and finally long rifles.

I was hooked for life.

Adios

I can't remember how old I was, 10 or less, but the rifle was a Springfield Model 15, it's a single shot .22 bolt action. My Dad bought it when he was 13 (1941) with the money he earned from trapping rabbits in box traps and selling them to the local general store. It was the gun my daughter learned to shoot with and it will be the one my son learns with.

The first gun I ever shot was a S&W 422. My dad taught me to shoot when I was 5, and I am very grateful for that. I still have the gun and still shoot it on occasion.

Guess I was about 10-11, and shot Dad's 30.06.
He also had a H&K .22 revolver that was sweet to shoot.

I have the 30.06 Czech Mauser to this day. Inherited it.

I still remember the kick of that beast on that first day shooting a "Man's Gun".

:)

Like several others, I can't remember. I was very young and it was a long ----- long, time ago. It was a .22 rimfire bolt action. But whether or not it was a repeater or single shot, brand, model, is lost in the mists of time. What I do remember is shooting it in the warehouse of the trucking terminal we lived in. That brings back some memories.
