A 6P should allow you to ID/shoot out to 100 yards or so, as long as you haven't just stepped out of a brightly lit room or something. I have a Surefire G3 LED that is comparably bright, and you can see a LONG way with it if the air is reasonably clear. No, you won't be making any 600-yard shots with the light, but I don't think that's really the point. Lighting up a target at 50 to 100 yards is probably the intended use.With a flip-up lens cover!! HA!! So what's the range off that flashlight? Seems kind of ridiculous to mount a flashlight on a long-range rifle.
