What would you carry?

HiWayMan,

Yeah I figured you were messing with me. :D

I do have a Long coat similar to a London Fog. Rarely worn because of my dress code. :p

I kept a number of 4" K frames and shotguns " around" the business. FWIW a Ithaca 37 full wood stock , short bbl 12 ga will fit nicely under one of those. I was having some Security matters attended to close to dark, and had to be outside some of the time.

LEO buddy asked if was carrying a BUG for my 1911. I don't think he expected to see a Ithaca 37 with wide rawhide looped around the stock and bbl. :uhoh: :p

He made some smart aleck comment since his SG in was in his Unmarked car - he'd just hide behind me if things went south.

The folks doing the work ( bonded) figured the fella was UC LEO or something, boy were they surprised when I took off my coat once inside and finished about midnight.

I have been known to be a character at times... ;)

Glock 19 is the ultimate gun. My reasons are as valid as any in such debates. Is there one that hasn't been said by someone.

I carry a commander frame 1911 regardless of temperature or attire. I never tuck in my shirt unless I'm going to court (where I can't carry anyway) so I can always conceal it, summer or winter. 9 rds of 230gr Ranger SXT .45s...just makes me feel warm and fuzzy.

I like my PM9 and carry it more than anything else. It can be easily concealed with just about any type of clothing and has been reliable and accurate.

You carry what is best for you. I use a Bersa Thunder 45 because it is lightweight, compact, reliable, accurate, and didn't cost an arm and a leg. I carry it in either an Alessi CQC-I or K L Null Model GBS. Regards, Richard:D

A 3" Mod 60 stainless in 38 spl. with a fast bevel base wadcutter (handloaded). I carry it in an inside the waistband holster. No safety, no weight, knockdown power, and a rubber clip in my back pocket.

Downside, 5 shots. Upside, don't need "em all.

G26

This is the one I settled on after trying anything from 1911's to J-frames. I'm an advocate of having one gun for CCW. This is the best compromise of eveything that I've tried. It has good reliability (3400 rds.), controlability, concealability and capacity. Loaded up with 11+1 147gr. Ranger SXT's at an average velocity of 952 fps., it will get the job done if I do my part.
