Your joking right? Please tell me you’re joking. I have a g23 and a usp 45 that don’t get shot much anymore but they are both tried and true defensive pistols. Way more than any ruger or hi point could ever be. I just can’t fathom how a g23 and usp 45 couldn’t make the cut but a lcp and c9 could. Am I missing something here?
The 1911 and Cz 75 were definitely good replacements for the usp and glock 23. Especially if you experienced problems or didn’t enjoy shooting them. That’s all that really matters anyways, reliability and enjoyment. My g23 and usp have both been reliable and accurate with both over 10,000 rounds. I don’t shoot them that much anymore because some of the modern guns I own have better ergonomics and triggers, which contribute to me shooting them a bit more efficiently with less effort. My g23 and usp 45 both hold a special place in my gun collection though.Nothing was wrong with the USP, I just never had a need for it and only bought it because it was a deal I couldn't pass up. When I sold it I used the money to get an SR1911, which seems to make it to the range a lot more than the USP did. There are days I wish I still had it, but not enough to go buy one since I'll never find another one for $400.
The G23 jammed on me 4 times in the 3,000 rounds I put through it, and I never could shoot it accurately but that wasn't the gun's fault because I had friends that could shoot it well. The G23 was replaced by a CZ75, which again I like much better, can shoot much better, and it hasn't failed yet. Actually, none of my center-fire semi-auto's have ever jammed (even the Hi Point) except for that Glock. After needing a dowel rod to extract a spent case for the 2nd time I decided the Glock had to go.
To be fair, I don't really care for any polymer framed semi-auto I've ever held or shot. The LCP is kept around because it's so darned small and light and it disappears in my pocket when I can't carry anything larger. I have the C9 because I only spent $120 on it, it's reliable and is surprisingly accurate, and I can keep it in my garage and don't really care if a $120 gun rusts.
