I have a Norinco SKS-M. This is the 16” barrel Chinese SKS that takes AK mags from the factory.

Its fairly accurate, handy, and reliable.

However, I don’t shoot it much and would like to sell it. I have 4 30rnd surplus steel mags and a 10 rnd PMAG. Original stock and handguard and sling. There is no rust. OEM stock looks like typical Chinese 2x4. The ramline its in now is in good condition. I will take off the Tech Sight and replace OEM irons. C904A9E8-ACF8-4223-BBA0-C200A74D02D4.jpeg

Gunbroker has them going at $750-$800. I am considering Armslist as well but I don’t think itll fetch $750 locally.

Whats it worth?

I have seen SKS run about $750 in Oregon and California. If you don’t have a high round count and by the looks of your photos I would say you should list it at $750 and see how it goes.

I'd suggest checking Armslist for what they've sold for locally if you're not interested in shipping to CA where values are higher on these rifles.

That said, in original configuration (and if you're including the additional stock and rear sight) they're highly sought after since not very many came into the country before PRC firearms imports stopped. Here in TN you would be able to get $700 with everything you've described.

I concur, about restoration to original condition, if at all possible. IME, you're far more likely to sell it for more in it's stock form.

I picked up a Model "M" a while ago for $200. It had a really bad red, white and blue paint job that somehow had seeped into the trigger mechanism and a plastic mag that wouldn't feed.
The seller obviously thought that he had found a sucker.
A good bit of elbow grease returned it to near-showroom condition and a surplus steel mag returned it to full function.
I've had offers approaching three figures but I'm not interested in selling, even though I have four other SKS's.
I certainly couldn't replace it for the amount that I could get for it.

3 figures?

Yep.
(Edit -well, four figures actually.)
$900.00 plus shipping and transfer fees.

Not interested in selling any gun, especially to anyone that I don't really know.

-And I have decided not to mention any of my guns on any board that's not associated with THR ever again... .

Thanks for the replies all. I got a really good deal on it 2 years ago and can’t replace it for what I paid... but the SKS at peak form still doesn’t do what I need.
