Someone posted about the cap sizer on a forum a long time a go. I made mine out of a pair dollar store wire cutters. I drilled a hole in the wire cutters. I shoot mainly Colts and i like using my Ted Cash capper. I size my caps a 100 at a time and put them in my capper.

If you've read my past posts on this subject you'll know that this subject is a major itch I couldn't scratch. The fact that there is no industry standard for nipple size and cap size is ridiculous.
The best answer I could find is that Track of the Wolf makes their own line of SS nipples and their machinist was able to tell me that they designed their nipples to CCI #11 caps.
I've bought 4 sets for my revolvers (two Uberti 1862's, one Uberti 1861 and one Ruger Old Army) and the CCI caps fit perfectly. No sizing required.

I have nine revolvers and i shoot all of them and to top it off i have extra cylinders for some of them. Thats a lot of nipples to buy. I think i will just keep sizing my caps.

Agreed Pancho I have changed a few sets of worn nipples with upgrades. I take very good care of my guns my nipples last a long time.

doubleh, I here you i have been shooting cap and ball revolvers sense the late 1970s the first Remington caps i ever saw was when we got a Bass Pro Shop six years ago. When i first started buying them they fit stock nipples and worked real well. After they improved them they started blowing a part and the last ones i bought were a little bigger so i had to size them to. When they are back in stock i will try them again.

On a side note years ago i bought a revolver with a starter kit and it came with two sets of nipples one set worked with CCI #10s the other with CCI#11s. I also have an old Split Fire nipple for CVA cap lock guns that was made for CCI #10s.
