What's this bolt for?

Got this included with a completely unrelated weapon thanks to the fact that they were apparently sold to the pawn shop together and the employees at the shop know nothing at all about firearms. Anybody know what it's for? Based on the position of what I think is the firing pin it's got to be rimfire but that's all I'm pretty sure about

Yup a Marlin. Thats why I say DON"T take bolts out and store them separately. The bolt looks in great shape so the gun probably is too. But useless now. Theres plenty of trigger,cable, ect locks to secure a gun with the bolt still in it. I've bought several boltless .22s over the years for dirt cheap. But I had the same model so I could just swap a bolt in until I found one for a decent price. Too bad the pawn shop couldn,t trace who brought it in. They may still have the rifle or know who does.

The pawn shop has to have an FFL to take guns in and has to have the contact info for the person who pawned it. That doesn't mean that person is still there, but it's a start.
