CZ 512 .22WMR.

You got a cigarette lighter in that thing? (Just kidding -- very nice!)

I only have 2 left. The one on top I've had since I was 9 years old, I'm now 76, Santa brought it to me. It's about as accurate as .22 get. It's a Remington 514. The Ruger 10-22 below is decently accurate, I've hit ground hogs in the head with it at a range finder measured 70 yards.

It depends on the platform.

Lever-action: Marlin 39
Semi-auto: Ruger 10/22 HB
Bolt-action: Savage Mark II F
Single-shot: T/C Arms Contender

I traded a guy for a really tricked-out 10-22. Super accurate and a pleasure to shoot. Nothing even remotely like any of my other guns, but a favorite at the range.

My favorite for build quality is a Remington Model 37 topped with a 16x Unertl.

You win, that's awesome!

My father in law has one just like it with the 16x unertl made I think in 1936 but it's in a target rifle stock. He also has a 1932 Winchester with a 20x unertl. Him and my brother in law shot leaque with them. Don't remember what it was called but they shot standing, prone, sitting, and kneeling at 50 feet and the x ring was 1/4 inch. He was ranked 50th nationally. Both of them will stack bullets in a 3/8" hole at 25 yards on the bench.

Thanks, someguy2800.

That rifle is a 1950. I also have a 1948 and a Redfield 3200 24x. I have peepsights for the guns, single shot adapters, and a 5 shot mag. I had a nice 1946 model 37 that I let go a couple of years ago.

My favorite is a Kimber 86, incredibly accurate, great trigger, found at a pawnshop of all places. Definitely a benchrest rifle.

Never saw a Kimber 86. I am familiar with the Kimber 82, though. They are decent target guns for the money.

I really dig my CZ452s. I dunno. They just have a certain soul for me if you will. They certainly are not the worlds best .22 in any single regard but all in they make pretty compelling package as far as accuracy, reliability, build quality, price etc. are all concerned.
I have quite a few .22 rifles, and they all have their good points, but there are two that make me go "Ah!" whenever I pick them up: a CZ 452 Trainer and a 1970's-era Winchester 9422. Of course they both shoot great, but it's more than that: It's about how they look and feel, and even how they smell (as weird as that might sound).

Same here. There's something about CZ guns (certainly the 452s, but also their handguns and centerfire rifles) that makes them appeal to me and make me want to keep picking up another and another. It's something about the shape and design, and the old-school feel in operation. I like cycling the action and operating them almost as much as the actual act of shooting. IMO, any gun lover should try one, whether he/she be a handgun guy, or a rimfire or centerfire rifle guy.

Another CZ bolt fan here. I have 452 Trainer, FS, and Ultra Lux. I can't pick one as my favorite. They are all great. I have owned other CZ bolt .22 rifles, too. I have yet to find a bad one.

A Winchester '06 from 1925.

It was already pretty well beaten up when it was given to my Dad in 1940, when he was 8.

It was the first firearm I ever shot in 1964, when I was 8.

In many ways it is the ugliest .22 in my gun safe, but also the most beautiful.

My favorite is a 10/22 purchased new in 1978. Very accurate, very reliable, and very durable. The scope is a Weaver K2.5 which I got when I saw that the rifle was way more accurate than I could shoot with the iron sights.

Another 39A vote here. Mine is from 2006.

That being said... the gun is undoubtedly rather long and heavy, all things considered. Not the worst thing ever, but it can get noticeable over the course of a day. Especially walkin' around. I am glad the gun has sling swivels!

I have a number of .22s, and they all are fun. Even the single shots are satisfying in their own way. I think it's safe to say they all will outshoot me, too. At least with iron sights, and as far as I can tell.
