Just exploring different powders with the 7x57, I normally use imr 4350 . But thinking of switching to h4831sc for not being as temperature sensitive.

I mostly use 140s may switch to the 145 Speer hot cor tho. Open to different powders to that would work with the other cartridges I shoot.

In a modern (full chamber pressure rifle) IMR 4350 is hard to beat. Especially when I have probably over six of the eight pounds in the can I have on the shelf. I keep thinking about changing to the Reloader series of powders as they are simpler with which to deal.

However, I find little lacking in the 'lower pressure' loads. A 175 grain bullet at between 2300 and 2400 fps will kill any game animal in North America. And it's easy on the old body. I can still drive a car and read a Bible with small print, but I cannot and don't wanna kill a game animal over three hundred yards away. I'm not sure if I could see one anyway.
And I will work on a middle-weight bullet - 139 grains or so - so I have options.

Ya I really like imr 4350, I have gone up to 50 grains before but backed off, don't think brass would last more then 3-4 firings with 50. I'm at about 46gr now.

In my Zastava, I've measured the following loads. I do tend toward heavier bullets, so those who like 140 grain bullets may be disappointed. In a modern action, the 7x57 is quite capable of 60 KPSI, or maybe a bit more. So these are conservative loads.

CCI200, 48.5 grains H4350, 162 Horn BTSP, 3.190 OAL, 2732 FPS, 54 KPSI

CCI200, 51.0 grains RL19, 162 Horn BTSP, 3.190 OAL, 2762 FPS, 56.1 KPSI

CCI200, 50.5 grains H4350, 150 NosBT 3.230 OAL, 2864 FPS, 56.6 KPSI

CCI200, 52.5 grains RL22, 160 Nos AccB 3.290 OAL, 2736 FPS, 55.5 KPSI

CCI200, 48.3 grains H4350, 139 Horn Interlk, 3.018 OAL, 2800 FPS (Granddaughter's elk load--very mild)

Of course, individual results in your rifle will be different.
