Was able to make it out to a buddies last night and had yhe chance to finally shoot a little yesterday. It's been too long. I was grouping consistent with my sp101 and gp100, but I had a nasty habit of straying left. I think it's my trigger control and being rusty. Most shots were fired single action and only had enough time for 75 rounds. My GP was 1-2" left with nice tight groups and the sp101 was about 4"-6" lift with a 4" group. Height was good on both ,except for the .357s I ran through the sp101 which were a bit higher due to recoil.

Where to you guys place to trigger fingers with revolvers? I've been using the middle of my pad like iIhave on semi autos but i see some people use the crease of their fingers for revolvers, especially with DA. Looking at the shooter wheel pictured below, too little finger corresponds with me shooting left. Do you use the crease ?What about for single actions like Blackhawks ? Just like to hear about others tehniques. I've setup an are so I can dry fire practice at 7yds everday to keep fresh like I should have been all along. Thanks.

Crease for me, and the finger slides a bit across the face of the trigger as it comes back (providing it's smooth). On grooved triggers, I get more of the pad of the finger on there.

For me, the edge of the trigger is where I set the crease of my finger. So I use the last bit of pad before the joint. And, with my trigger finger is located there, I use the lower part of the finger to roll the trigger down (for DA at least). This where my finger naturally finds itself (no doubt from subconscious repetition), and that is therefore where it works best for me. Not just with revolvers, but semi-autos too.

Edited: It's worth noting here that I'm not a particularly good shot. But I do generally manage to get my groupings centered on where I'm aiming. So I guess there's that.

I use the middle of the first pad on my finger so I can pull straight back. Pulling the trigger straight back is key to help keep the gun on target for me. Too much finger in there and you can start pulling the the gun to the side. It seems like I watched Jerry Miculek shooting a handgun and he was using the first pad of his finger also.

Largish hangs and skinny fingers.

The crease is all that works for me with a DA/SA gun.

1911, the middle of the first pad is doable, but still not natural.

I place the trigger behind the cuticle of my finger nail, whether shooting DA or SA, because the most important thing is the press the trigger smoothly straight to the rear.

I do agree that the cause of your drifting shots is likely trigger management and I have two suggestions:
1. Shoot DA/SA revolvers in DA...unless you're shooting out much pass 50 yards...as shooting SA is a mental invitation to jerk the trigger.
2. Don't take the Diagnostic Chart too seriously. It is design to diagnose flaws when shooting one-handed; the dynamics change dynamically when you add the support hand

You didn't mention the distance to the targets you were shooting at. If you're getting 4" groups at 25 yards, that sounds pretty respectable

Right at but not in the 1st joint of the index finger shooting DA. My 1911 and Ruger MK3 Target I use the middle of the 1st pad of the index finger. If I use the pad in DA it has a sweeping arc to the pull on a revolver and yanks the gun left and down.
