Sooooo, went to the local Scheels today intending to check and see what powder they had available.

Went over to the used gun section just to peek at what was there and I find a late production Winchester 94 Ranger in 30-30... With a Leupould1.5-4x20 scope on it... For $599?!

*Checks to make sure the scope is not a counterfeit.*

*Checks to make sure the gun is actually real and not a movie prop.*

Needless to say, the gun came home with me. A nice end to the year.

Nice snag!! I can’t remember the last time I saw a 30-30 lever in the used rack!!!!!
I do hope they included a box of the just as scarce 30-30 cartridges!!!!!
Range report please.

30-30 is so much fun. I have a 94 ranger as well and I see why yours has an optic, the sheet metal sights beg for an upgrade.

30-30 has become my favourite rifle cartridge to load as its just so fun to handle the rounds.

Hard to believe Scheel's under-priced a used gun. I've bought several from them and never got any great deals. FAIR deals, yes, but under-priced deals, no, and they don't dicker on the price. The good part about that is that they don't try to screw you on used guns, either, so you can take the gun home knowing you didn't OVER-pay.

That is probably a VX Freedom scope that sold new for $200 a year ago, closer to $300 in today's market. Used it is worth about $150. If it is a VX3i add about $100 to those numbers. The rifle sold for about $175 new in the 1990's.

With gun prices being crazy right now I still think you got a deal. But I'd not call it a steal.

She's a beaut and that scope is like icing on the cake!

Yeah, you did alright!

I'd scrape that icing off, sell it, and put some nice peeps on that rifle. But yeah, nice rifle for sure. Good score! :)

Nice!

Looks to be a 80's or early 90's gun before the ugly cross-bolt safety showed-up. [Oops on my part.]

Where does the serial number place it?

It's an xtr I'm sure. Wouldn't give $100 for one.
