When to switch out the glock recoil spring assembly?

I've put countless thousands through my gun, somewhere north of 15k. Recently it feels like it's beating up my delicate hands quite a bit more, got quite a bit more whack to it now than it used to and I've started getting brass to the face pretty hard, something that's never happened before. I've been feeding it a steady diet of NATO ammo and handloads to simulate my +P carry ammo.
Looks like it's time to change the RSA, no?
HOWEVER, my glock passes the 12 o'clock test even when it's dirty and cruddy, so I'm wondering if it's me, or if my spring really is on the way out..

Do you guys change out your springs at regular service intervals, or wait for symptoms?

I can't speak to Glock specifically, but the SIG armorer's manual specifies replacing recoil springs at 5000 rounds. If it's just a range toy it doesn't matter as much, but if you are carrying it, replace things BEFORE issues start.

If you've got more than fifteen thousand rounds through it, I think it's done its bit. Change it. Springs are cheap especially compared to the consequences of a failure at the wrong time.

I've got a G19 with a similar round count. I'm starting to get issues with my trigger reset. Notably, for some reason the trigger does not always reset on the last round or two in a mag. I can't imagine what the connection is, but I figure it is about that time.

Find a GSSF match in your area and drop by on one of the match days. You don't even have to actually enter the match. Take your UNLOADED gun and the match armorer will look it over and replace any parts that need replacing. If you tell him how many rounds have been through the gun, he'll probably put a new RSA in it even if the old one still seems to be operational.

Have you checked your trigger spring?
