The Federal .38 Special +P HST Micro revolver ammunition.
Whatever happened to this round? It looked like it might have been a good choice for self defense carry. Lucky Gunner did a good review of it some time ago.
I bought a box for my friend's birthday, to use in his S&W snub, but have not seen any lately.
It's not listed on their website. Has it been discontinued, or replaced by the 130 gr. Hydra Shock Deep or the 120 gr. PUNCH ? :(

I bought a box of those and I fired four and the rest are in my guns. I think they're a terrific round and the reviews were awesome. In the lucky Gunner test was spot on. But it's sad that they did disappear
I tried researching their availability. And I found nothing other than they weren't on federal website anymore. So I take it they were discontinued and replaced with something else.

Are we talking about the factory version of Skeeter Skelton's "Planet Wrecker Special", with a HBWC loaded backwards? I have a box and a half in my ammo stash, and they have a fierce reputation. (I also have a part box of actual Planet Wreckers, loaded with a coal scoop of 2400. They must be well into low-end .357 magnum pressures; I chronoed them in a M66)
Georgia Arms makes a factory version of the Full Charge Wadcutter, which has received positive reviews, and it offers manageable recoil, even in a 340SC.
