So Leupold has MAP pricing, which I am firmly against as a consumer, but that is not the trust of this topic, other than to say, nobody advertises Leupold on sale.

Where is the best/cheapest place to buy a Leupold scope? I'm looking for the vx freedom 1.5-4x20 pig Plex. Currently I see Midway showing $200 shipped with a $25 gift card, and sportoptics.com quoted me $180 shipped, Brownells $185 after coupon. Anybody know of any legit places that can beat any of those prices?

Thanks alf. Opticsplanet wins. $193 -10% code USCCAH16 and I even had a store credit there..... I had skipped them because for some reason I had thought codes didn't work on Leupold scopes. I was wrong.

I would not use optics planet on a drunken bet with your money. Have had horrible luck with them and after they let me down right before a deployment I am done with them. They like to sell things which they do not have.

SWFA is my go to for fair pricing and they actually have the product on hand (unlike optic planet), have good customer service and have a clue about the items they are selling.

If optics planet offered to send me something for free I would not take it as I'm sure they would fine a way to bill me $500 and not send me anything in the next calendar year; want to be clear on my level of trust with them.

A pawn shop for just any second hand Leupold. But for a specific one, just take the easiest lowest price and run...don’t sweat a few dollars.

Ohen, I'm sorry to hear you've had such a bad experience with optics planet. I've had a lot of success with them. Now, they are drop shippers, and I have had to wait almost a month for something before, but usually it shows up in a week no problem.

I think you’ve been lucky. I have had several bad experiences with Optics Planet. The only way I’d buy from them is if they were the only place I could get something.

Places to buy:
Camera Land
B&H Photo
Adorama
SWFA
Natchez Shooters Supplies
Eurooptic

Doug at Camera Land and Skylar at SWFA will bend over backwards to give you a good deal. More importantly they expend the same amount of energy after the sale to make sure customers are taken care of.

This is an example of Doug’s work, he is gr8fuldoug:

You could give a few LGSs a try. When I'd settled on precisely the Leupold I wanted I called a LGS to see what they could do. I figured it was almost an exercise in futility - as I thought there would be no way they could beat online prices.

Well - they beat the best online price I had found by over 10%.....and they didn't ask me what price they needed to beat. I gave them the model number and they gave me the price. When I picked it up I commented to the owner how good the price was and he said they deal with a lot of distributors, and every-now-and-then there's a distributor out there that feels particularly motivated to move something.

Ebay has typically been the best place for used optics, and sometimes the new ones on there are reasonably priced too. Gunbroker is good as well. And Amazon. And Armslist. And craigslist. Yeah, Natchez SS has some good deals on Nikon refurbs and demos for sure.

Check out Bear Basin. They can't beat the prices you've listed on the scope you want, but they do put Leupolds on sale on occasion. I have been very satisfied with my experience with them.

I've had that happen to me with Adorama, but so far I'm hitting 100% with Optics Planet.

The other's I've had success with are SWFA, Natchez, and Primary Arms. Even Midway USA in the past.

Unfortunately, I have to pay sales tax with SWFA and Primary Arms being that they are in my state.

opticsplanet undercut sport optics by $6, and like I said, I had a credit. I bought yesterday and got a tracking number today. So I'm all set.

chicharrones, I feel you pain. swfa and primary arms are out for me too because of sales tax. CDNN too. last time I bought a rifle from them I got hit with sales tax, shipping, ffl fee, undisclosed signature fee. blegh. Now, my brother drives past primary arms every day, so I can get him to pick up stuff for me and not pay shipping......

Yep, and I just got a box full of magazines from CDNN a couple days ago. If it weren't for the sale prices to offset the other costs, well . . . :D

Walmart. Using The Leupold Rifleman 3x9 as a control, I found they had the lowest price at $199-Natchez had them at $199 also, but as blems.
