I don’t like having to pay $1+ per bullet for jacketed, usually dangerous game bullets, so I’m really wanting to find some good, preferably coated cast bullets. I have found quite a few in the 240-280gr range, but I’m really wanting to find some 300gr. I like full house loads in my H&H. It’s really just a range toy for me, and I greatly enjoy watching other people shoot it. It’s one of my “Oh, you think your 308 kicks? Here, shoot this!” guns. Most are not ready for the recoil that an 8 pound 375 produces. I have hunted bear and hogs with it, but never got the chance to take a shot on one.
I’m having a hard time finding any 300gr cast, much less coated for it. I feel like most of the lighter ones I’m finding are probably intended for 375 win. or plinkers for the big 375’s. I’m not interested in loading plinkers for this rifle, only full house loads, and the 300 grainers give the most satisfying thump. Does anyone know where I can find a good coated or gas checked bullet for a decent price? It would be awesome if I could load a $0.50-0.65 bullet instead of a $1+ bullet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Good Luck!

IMO your best bet is the PPU 300gr SPT.
Grafs sells them for $0.64 each (bag of 20).
5/bags of 20 (100pc) is $60. With shipping/tax about $77/100.

I can’t justify the $100 for a mold for my .375. I found a s LGS selling out and got a bunch of Hornady 270’s and Sierra 250’s for CHEAP. Even a box of 300gr Noslers for $18!

Thanks. That’s not bad for jacketed bullets! I’ve shot a lot of factory PPU out of mine and found it very consistent and accurate. I actually found some 300gr LFNGC in stock at Montana Bullet Works in the wee hours of the morning. They were $0.43 each plus shipping. My barrel slugs at 0.376, so I ordered 0.377. That’s the biggest they offer, but I was glad to see that they did offer several different sizes. Most companies that even carry 375 cast tend to only offer 0.376.

I couldn't find a source of .378 ~300gr cast bullets that wasn't expensive, so I bought a mold. If you ask the question over at CastBoolits, they will provide some sources. . . but might not save you much money.
