Where to get a box to ship a rifle?

Just make sure it's a decent box. Something flimsy won't hold up in shipping. Make sure it's packed so that the rifle can't shift around, or it will end up poking out of the box!

I always toss those rifle boxes up in the attic so there's always one on hand.

Go to Lowe's et al and ask for a water heater/weed whacker/etc box. They get some big cardboard there. Cut the ends off and wrap it around your rifle. Tape as necessary.

When you go to ship, they may measure length, width and height. They always come up with a very small number when a side is just a fold. Most of the time, you save money when shipping the above compared to an intact box.

Remember when shipping with UPS, if you ship in a previously shipped box they will not pay on any damage claims. It's BS, but that's the way it is.
