Here is a link to the Bond .22s. One of them is also available in .22 Magnum. The first six choices are .22LR. Choice #7 is the .22 Magnum.

I am kind of leaning towards the BP22 because it looks like the standard gun frame, so I could put any of my barrels on it. With the Rawhide the frame is shorter, so i am not sure it would be advisable to run something like the .45 ACP barrel on that one. You can get a 3" barrel with one of the Stingers, but I am not keen on the trigger guards and the Stinger guards are not removable. Same with the Honey B, but that one has the extended grip which is nice. I also like the Stubby for its compactness and it has the thinner frame of the Stubby but no trigger guard.

Now if only Bond would come out with a .32 ACP barrel I would skip the .22.

Welp, 51 views and no votes. Guess us .22 and .32 guys are few and far between here. Also not many are interested in the insanity of the Cyclops. Well eventually we'll get some more votes I think.

BTW, my favorite Bond barrel is the .45 ACP! Maybe I should start a second poll with ALL the Bond barrels, or did we already do that?

If its a 22, make it a Stannnn-ger!

I've never owned a derringer. But I've handled several. Nice conversation piece.

Serious-caliber derringers are usually much larger and heavier than the pics suggest. I'd go hammerless .38 revolver all day over a derringer for self-defense.

Always makes me think of RICK Derringer.
He put on a good show.

Rick wrote that song for Johnny Winter And which was the band formed between Rick and his former band, the Macoys, and Johnny.

IF, Bond Arms chambered the Texan in .22 LR, then maybe I'd be interested.

I just added your option to the poll in case you want to vote for it.

I have a Rawhide .22 and I have a Texas Defender .22 barrel. Although a Stinger or Stinger RS would be more practical for a .22 I voted for the Rawhide. I think the fact that it is so overbuilt for a .22 gives it a particular charm.
One of my basic tenets of life has always been that anything worth doing is worth overdoing.

Two shots for self-defense? Not for me, regardless of the caliber.
Not everything regarding guns is about self defense. Coins are useless as defense against marauding hordes of ne'r do wells but people collect them anyway.
I can't think of a single scenario in which any of the more than 100 pocketknives in my collection would give me any defense against a home invasion or a street punk but I sure do enjoy having the ones I have and acquiring new ones.
That's just my take, but then I'm one of those weird, ill-informed, delusional people who carries a 5 shot .38 and no reload instead of a Glock 17 and 7 extra mags when I go out to take the trash cans to the curb.

I voted .32 acp but what I really recommend instead is to just buy a regular bond arms deringer (not a stinger frame) and get a rough series barrel in .327 federal magnum to go with it.

If I was doing this the exact model I would get would be the Grizzly which has the extended grip, and 3" .410/.45 colt barrel, and a 2.5" rough series barrel in .327 federal magnum. The .327 barrel is wildly more interesting than a .22 lr barrel to me, and you may be able to shoot .32acp out of it.

I have to say, that is a truly impressive amount of steel for launching two 22 Long Rifle bullets. What is the reason to have one of these instead of a North American mini-revolver for the same cartridge? If it's just novelty, I understand, because I used to have a BJT DA 38 derringer, and I still have a Cobray Pocket Pal. But that makes it hard to know how or why to vote.

^ what he said. The thin nylon Stinger is the only one that makes a little sense. It seems you are drilling two .22 caliber holes in an anvil for the all metal versions.

On the bright side, unless any of them get run over by a D-10 Caterpillar, it will NEVER wear out shooting .22’s.

But which barrel for the Cyclops? The web site says,
"These beasts have been released in the legendary .45-70 Government with future releases and barrel options in other big bore fun like .44 Magnum, .454 Casull, and .50 AE!"

Gotta think the .454 would be beyond brutal and a wrist snapper.

nothing to do with the lack of love for .22 or ,32 more likely that deringers are limited in popularity and or reality. Better choices out there...

Disclaimer: I am a total, unabashed Bond Arms fanboy!
Now, having said that, I see no practical use for the cyclops in 45-70, .460 S&W, 500 S&W, or .44 mag so, with that in mind I'll opt for the 45-70 just for the "romance" of it once it's in stock at our distributors. The other calibers are handgun calibers. What's not to like about a derringer chambered for an ancient rifle cartridge?
(Yes, Yes, I know, it's useless for an El Presidente drill or a 3 gun competition.)

I wish they made the Snake Slayer, or some of the other brushed Stainless framed, wood grip guns in .22 LR..... I HATE aluminum and plastic on guns.... Especially Bond Arms. I have the Century 2000 in 3" .410 / .45 Colt, and would love to see that model in .22 L.R.

A Derringer for me chambered for ridiculous cartridges like the Cyclops line are nothing more than a quality novelty item that would rarely get range time. I can tell you that it will never see a factory 45-70 round through it only my light 405 grain trapdoor reloads that run 1300 FPS out of my carbine which will still be fairly stout.

You have to remember that even with factory .45-70 rifle rounds, the recoil isn't all that bad in handguns. The barrels are much too short for complete powder consumption. Especially the Bond Arms Derringer. I have a Magnum Research BFR in both .45-70, as well as .500 S&W Magnum. And there is no comparison between the 2. The .500 is a much more robust round, because it was designed for a handgun.

I also have the Contender Pro Hunter in .308 and .30-06. That's a different animal because it has a 15" barrel. There are many .308 AR's equipped with 16" barrels. In that weapon the recoil is SEVERE in both .308 and .30-06!
