CCI for me. They've always been reliable and that is what I grew up reloading with (I'm only 24) my father. When I get my own equipment and reloading stuff I plan on trying different primers, but for now I just use CCI, especially since it always seems that my father has a stock pile of them.

Mostly Winchester. I like how the large pistol primers are suitable for either magnum or standard loadings. There used to be a vendor at an area gun show that sold Winchester primers at a very reasonable price. All future shows have been canceled so I am now stuck between Gander Mountain (not my favorite store) and those terrible hazmat shipping fees.

CCI's I think they are the safest against pre detenation. I will use a Federal if I am loading for a pistol that has a light hammer strike. Merry Xmas
Jim

Handgun loader here:
I prefer the CCIs, though I load both those and Winchesters (depending upon supply). The CCIs always feel like they seat better and more 'definately' (I'm using a Lee Pro 1000 press).

im getting a little concerned about CCI, i loaded some 9mm largo, mind you they were full power but not above recommened loads, and the primers come out flattened. so i try again this time with low, (and i do mean low, 3.5 grains of bullseye low) and they still flattened out on me. i hope its not a bad lot as i bought a 1000 of em and i dont want to be out the 15 bucks if possible.

It's not uncommon to have flattened primers. Especially with auto loaders. Flattened primers is not a sign of high pressures as some think. In semi autos being slammed back against the bolt face is what causes this flat primer. Remember the auto loader references on the case mouth and not on the case head...
