Which is better- Gunsamerica or Gunbroker?

Which gun auction website do you think is better and why- Gunsamerica or Gunbroker?

I've used GA more than GB. My one and only bad experience was with a sleezeball on GB, but that wasn't GB's fault really. With GA you don't have the "auction" wait. Only used AuctionArms once, but that transaction went OK.

GA is quicker, maybe cheaper

GB has more selection

Both work well enough.

Every time I go looking for something on GunsAmerica its usually WAY overpriced.

Stuff on GB can be overpriced too, but you're more likely to find a deal there.

I've also sold stuff on GB and had real good results. I've been fortunate in that I've never been ripped off.

GunsAmerica needs a serious redesign ... its bland and looks like it was built in notepad in 1992.

Each one has its merits. Always try both, simple as that.

Gunsamerica seems to be mostly dealers with premium prices. Deals can sometimes be had on Gunbroker and I find the interface to be much better. Auction Arms is okay, but the selection is much less for most items. I've bought from GB and AA and never had any problems.

Even though I hate eBay now, I still remember when you could buy and sell guns on eBay. Boy was that great.

I prefer Gunbroker. I find it easier to use than Guns America. And I agree that there seems to be better deals on Gunbroker as well.

neither GA, GB or AA are very good at sorting, searching, etc. the obnoxious AA format seems inspired by the drudgereport.

even so, i always check all three when i'm in the market for something. and i've purchased several guns from GA, and nothing from the other two.

the key of course, is being patient. the deals will show up. and everything's negotiable.

You have to really look for the deals on GB but they are there to be had.

I think I got the buy of the century there when I bagged a 24" bull barrel AR 15 with a Harris bipod, a Leupold 4.5X14 VXIII Tactical, a carry case and a bunch of 30 round mags for $1000 a few years ago. What a rifle! Unreal!

I like to search GB for auctions closed in the last month to check prices. That will give you the best assessment for what market price really is ... the price something actually sold for. I've found the occasional deal on both GB and AA; never purchased through GA, although I do look there frequently.

I've used GB and AA for several purchases, Gunsamerica tends to be much higher than local prices for the stuff I buy.

They both have their pros and cons. No need in limiting yourself in shopping on just one. Just buy off the one that gives you the best price at that moment.

They're different animals; GunsAmerica isn't an "auction"... it's a "for sale by owner"... I've used both, and haven't had any trouble...

I've never used either since their prices are usually no better or higher than most local places. I was looking for a PT1911 on GB and one guy had the BuyNow set at something like $670 I personally wish that sites like GA and GB would be a place where you'd mostly see used or like new or new in box guns being sold by individuals and small dealers at lower prices than new, rather that just a place where retailer go to whore it up with their marked up retail costs. The same thing happened on Ebay. Instead of mostly indivuals selling stuff at good prices for a "good deal" you see retailers starting their auctions on items at the same price as you can just buy the item at the store.

I've used GA, GB and AA. I've had the best luck so far with GB but I haven't had any really bad experiences with the other two. GA does tend to be higher priced because it is not an auction. The prices there are essentially "Buy It Now" prices.

I will agree with cedjunior. The prices for the most part are outrageous. I just looked at GB just before I wrote this. $400.00 for a 30-30 Marlin lever action that I can go out right now today and buy for $335.00 at Big 5. No shipping or FFL fees either. I gave up looking for any guns at online auction sites. I just stick to gun shows or local. Now Ebay for gun holsters and belts is a totaly diffeent story. Good buys are there on them.

AuctionArms is my favorite - decent folks, good crowd. GunBroker is apparently run by SJMs and has a higher percentile of crooks than AA, while GA is largely unusable due to its poor organization, crappy user interface, and just plain silly prices.
