Which pistol/rifle combo would you carry into war?

another interesting combination would be the 1911, and the thompson 1927 with the 250 round drum magazine.

or how about a 1911 paired with a B.A.R.

rbohm, biggest drum I've seen for any Thompson is the 100-round C-drum--mags are designated by their capacity in Roman numerals: XX=20 (1921A original stick), XXX=30 (WWII stick, partial offset to drums' withdrawal from use), L=50 (drum, 1921A original), C=100 (upgraded, larger drum introduced between the 1921 SMG and original 1927 semiauto.*

*Note: the original 1927 is legally considered an MG by ATF, as it's built from full-auto parts and can be converted back to FA--it's among the least desirable Thompson's, because you have the PITA of an MG but only the fun of an SBR. Numrich had to totally redesign the receiver for the more recent 1927s back in the '70s so they couldn't be converted to FA...

If I'm limited to what I already own, it would be:

Long gun: Remington 870 Express Marine Magnum with a mix of 00 Buck and slugs

Handgun: Beretta 92FS

If I could choose from any gun in the world, it would be:

Long gun: Colt M4, 16", select-fire, with a Trijicon ACOG and Surefire Scout light

Handgun: Beretta 92FS

If it were one of those "dropped in the middle of the wilderness, no cleaning supplies or spare parts, defend against bears, lions, natives, armies, crocodiles, etc." scenarios, I'd probably go with:

Long gun: Remington 870 Express Marine Magnum with a mix of 00 Buck, birdshot and slugs

Handgun: Ruger GP100 4" stainless .357

i'll play along.

urban - mossberg 12 gauge properly set-up and a Sig P220

OR

Colt tactical M4 with EOTECH and Glock 17

terrain/rural -

FN Herstal FNAR .308 with ACOG and a Ruger GP-100 Revolver

I am defensive minded rather than offensive, by myself I much prefer a shotgun and the non-confrontational approach. A rifle is an attacking weapon, in my opinion. Not smart to attack alone unless you're forced to, even in an hd scenario. Just my .02

If this is full on infantry in a nurban setting then I would choose an M4 and a Taurus PT92.

If in a situation where long range attack would be prudent then I would go with a .308 or 7mm mag with some type of high cap 9mm pistol as a sidearm.

From what I have now, probably my SLR-95 with red dot and either Glock 23 or 21.

If I got to choose, probably an M1A Scout with red dot and again either Glock 23 or 21.

Whatever Uncle Sam issues to me ... good ole M-16 and M9, but preferably an M-4 and M11 this time around.

For my two wars, I carried a 1911, and then an M9. No rifle required when you are a PowerPoint Ranger!

I would make kick-ass PowerPoint slides and drink lots of coffee.

HK 416, israeli galil, or beretta ar 90/70 i think it's called, or an accurized fal. One of those, and my chrome jericho .40

From what I have, a DSA STG58 FAL and a Kimber TLE full size.

If I had to go with a Nato caliber handgun I would take my W. German Sig 226 9mm.
