I just bought an old Weaver 2.5x post & crosshair scope and I'm looking for input as to which rifle to mount it on. I have a non vintage single shot .22 that I shoot quite a bit or a .22 Hornet that hardly gets shot at all.

Pictures of the rifles please! A 2.5x isn't a bad choice for a .22 rimfire, but I'd like to see the rifles were discussing here before weighing in with an opinion.
I can't post pictures, but the .22 single shot is a Rogue Rifle Chipmunk with a bull bbl. and the Hornet is a Savage 840 or 340.

That Mannlicher number on the bottom is making me tempted to start looking on gunbroker again.

They do show up occasionally -- one of my local buddies has a nearly identical one, also in 30-06. It was made by Heym but branded Montgomery Wards/Western Field.

BTW, the scope with the gold turrets is a Weaver with Sears JC Higgins branding.

I had a buddy who bought a Savage 340 off of Gunbroker and it had a K6 on it.He brought the rifle to me to install a more modern scope on it and when I asked him what he was going to do with the old K6,he said it would probably wind up in his junk drawer.I did the scope swap for him and when he asked what he owed me for the job,I said that old Weaver would be plenty good if he wanted to do that.It looks like it was meant to be on my old Remington 722 in 300 Savage.I'm looking forward to hunting with that old setup. An older bolt gun of some sort would be good for one of those old 2.5's.
