If you were in the market for one, which sub-compact .40 S&W would you get?

CZ 2075 Rami
Glock 27
Springfield XD 40 sub-compact

Glock 27 for me. I ended up buying two of them lol.

One for CCW and another one for backup purposes.

Just pick whatever you are comfortable with. All three guns are great. My brother loves his XD subcompacts.

Of the choices listed, a wash between the XD and Glock - whichever fits your hand and/or carries better. I don't like the RAMI at all - a polymer one I handled had poorly placed and shaped safety levers. If a handgun is to have any external controls, I want them to be easy to use. I would also add, for your consideration, the S&W M&P compact (I have one of these in 9mm and it has been outstanding) and the H&K P2000SK. These are slightly larger (mostly in the thickness of the slide), but still very compact. The HK will run you about 50% more, price wise.

Out of the 3, I'd go for the XD. The only reason I don't still have my XD Subcompact 9mm is because I got rid of all of my 9mms. (my reasoning was, if I want to shoot cheaply, I'll shoot .22s... if I have to shoot for real, it's going to be .357sig or .45acp).

I'd own an XD-40SC, if I shot .40s&w, for sure. It's only real competition (in my mind) isn't listed in your poll... the H&K P2000SK, which is admittedly an even better pistol than the XD.

Simple choice for me since i already own one: Glock 27. Even if i didn't already own a subcompact i would still pick the Glock. I like my Glocks much better than i like my XD40.

I purchased a Glock 27 which is a great sub-compact as it comes. However, I added a .357 Sig barrel, and I've never fired a round of .40 since! The 27 or 33 are excellent choices, but I much prefer the .357 Sig to the .40 S&W.

I didn't vote because I am also in the market for a .40 sub-compact. I own a G26 and I would recommend this little shooter in a heartbeat if you were looking for a 9mm. I have shot the G27 and it is ok. I am just looking for something different. I am thinking about purchasing the XD40 sub, or the S&W .40sc.

Sorry that I am not much help. Good luck with your decision.

don't know much about the CZ...

XD and glocks are both great guns. I've got a service .40 XD and 9mm SC. The XD just fits better in my hand and I like the backstrap safety.

ultimately, your call depending on what fits better in your hands.

XD is cheaper around here and comes with a bunch of goodies...IMO its the way to go...they are very nice in my hand and I was really considering one before I got my Kel Tec PF9

I have one plastic pistol: an M&P 40 Compact. It's a good little gun, however, I had malfunctions after I bought it and sent it back to the mothership under warranty. The gun is now reliable and Smith & Wesson upgraded the sights from white dots to night sights.

It's a new design and doesn't have the reputation the Glock 27 has. I recommend the M&P because it's more comfortable to hold in the hand. The replaceable back straps seem like a gimmick, but they are actually useful.

I suggest you give the M&P a shot. Smith did good on this one.

Of the choices I picked the M&P compact. What I would pick would be the P2000SK.

Edit: I'm reading a imaginary poll. Of your poll I'd pick the Glock.

Lemme rephrase, I'd pick a P2000sk first, or M&Pc 2nd before any of the three listed. :D

i voted XD but tried all 3 & kal-tek p11 in 40, own & carry the Sig239 in 40. excelent accuracy/100% dependablity and an overall good trade off size vrs weight.

I shoot a 4" XD in either 45 or 9mm in competition so getting the 40sc was a no-brainer. I was sold on XD's quick, bought the 45 for capacity and within 3 months owned 2 more.

Once the 45 comes out in a sub compact (fingers crossed) the 40 will probably be kicked to the curb.
