So I'm sitting here watching my Spurs lose, and next to me I have these two. I ponder the front door kicked open, and wonder which I would grab. I honestly don't know, although if I take zero time to think, I probably go with the Colt for no reason other than it inspires a more confident, natural hold. In real life, I shoot the Sig better, so I am conflicted.

The Sig has 21 rounds of 124 grain +P GoldDots, the Colt has 9 rounds of Hornady Critical Duty 220 grain +P's. I have lots of rounds through both.

Not really wanting to start another yawn inducing .45 vs. 9mm thread, but given a home invasion, which would you grab & why?

The Sig because it has a light and because 60% of gunfights occur between dusk and dawn.

Just my .02,
LeonCarr

got it Rockhopper.

Colt in the right hand. Sig in the left.

As I sit here my J frame is in my Milt Sparks VMII others available be if needed.
Closest first.

I dislike Sigs, but it has the light, night sights, capacity and Gold Dots, so the Sig it would be.

Considering that it was 2329 when you posted and nice and dark, I go for the sig with the light and with almost 2 1/2 times the amount of ammo then the colt

SIG because of the light. You can put lights and lasers on 1911s, it is just harder than on a SIG.

The SIG for sure

Probably the SIG mainly because that's the same set-up I have with my P229R for HD.

I'd go with the 1911, but only because of my familiarity with the 1911 over a Sig and because you asked which one I would grab.
Which one should YOU grab? You've got two great pistols there. Grab whichever one you can use to get lead on target faster.

Colt, I don't like weapon mounted lights. Besides the first shot is what matters, don't think your going to need 21 rounds.

The light and bullet capacity on the sig makes this an easy choice for me. Sig it is!

M&P40, for the very same reason I chose it for carry.

Between your two guns, SIG.

I want more capacity than 7~8, and I want to avoid dealing with thumb levers.

Since home invasions happen fast, the gun that I could grab fastest, even if only a 1/2 second faster, is the obvious one to choose.

I like this question. For me the scenario was always 1-2 guys, and an auto or a revolver. I always leaned toward the revolver. But, in this "home invasion " scenario, I would choose the Sig. I can't give you a very logical reason, nor do I think I should have to. I'm just running with my gut reaction to your scenario.

Logically, though, I hate the idea of spraying 20 rounds of 9mm down range out my front door.

This might be one reason I've never carried a high capacity 9mm.

Whichever one I was wearing at the moment (which these days, would be neither of those, even though Ive carried both), as it would come with me when I jumped up and moved.

Why would you be "spraying" them down range? If they are in the door, they are the backstop. ;)

The pray and spray thing was old a long, long time ago. Ive been carrying a hig cap's for a long time now, and while I may "hose", I never "spray". :)
