Who has to work on Christmas?

Well, i have to work today because the recently popular large corporation based in houston needs 24 hour security because of a few crooked people. I would rather be home with the wife. Havn't had a christmas off in 5 years. The only good part is that i am provided internet access and cable tv. Maybe I shouldn't be bitter. Some people don't have jobs to go to this year.

Wishing a Merry Christmas to the Military/PD/Fire/EMT and volunter SR folks that are standing between the rest of us and disaster this Christmas.
Keep safe n go home to loved ones!
Dan

I worked last night, got in at 5:30 a.m. this morning, and am working again tonight! And its not working in a gun store, but I am armed while working.

I do, but oh well. - that's publication deadlines for you!

That means I don't get to play with my "new toys" for awhile, but that will also mean I get to have an extra fun day at the range! :D

Back to work now....

I drove out to the gun range this morning to open up office long enough to pour a fresh bowl of Meow Mix for Bud. Tam, does that count as gun related ?

Beyond that, "off" today. But ... I had to bust it bigtime on Christmas eve. I had scheduled and previously posted on DCSA and TP&W web sites a "hunter ed. home study completion course" for 0900 on the 24'th, believing it might "fit" for a handfull of college kids home for the holidays. As of Monday night, only 4 students had preregistered. When I got to range around 8:30 yesterday morning, the parking lot was full of folks wanting to buy last minute gift certificates for handgun classes or sign up for the 0900 hunter ed. class.

The 0900 class maxed out - filling all 10 chairs and still having to seat two teenager's Dads on 5-gallon buckets! (Lotsa folks waited until the 11'th hour on more than just shopping.) I'm afraid the "mandatory" hunter skills trail portion of that 5-hour course got "abbreviated" due to absolutely face-numbing north winds! Greybeard was definitely ready for a hot shower and nap.

Worked until noon.

Then my squadron commander sent everybody home. He'll probably do it again on New Years.

Just hope my fellow Air Force and DoD compatriots stuck in the Ickystan regions get some well-deserved time off today.

I spent the morning painting, although that's art, not walls. If I hadn't run out of wall paint, I might have started the next phase of work on the hall.

If it hadn't been so chilly, of course, I'd have said to @#$%^&! with all my responsibilities and gone to the range.

I arrived at the hospital at 07:00 this morning. It's now 20:17 and I'm still at the hospital. I so need a nap! The patients don't want to be here any more than the rest of us, so we just smile and wish each other a Merry Christmas and do what we can to get them home ASAP.

Merry Christmas y'all.:)

I worked Christmas for the last six years. The H*LL I say, I called in sick. And to Preacherman and the others that work in a prison, "Prison walls , do not a prison make." Oh yeah! We all have are own prisons, some by our own making and some not.;) :D

I had Christmas day off...

... but it was in 1997. Worked every one since then.

Current job we work seven days a week, so yep, I was working Christmas day... New Year's, too.

(obligatory gun content) An MP and I talked about the Beretta for a few moments yesterday ( :D @ Tam) (/obligatory gun content)

My biggest gripe about Christmas this year was the fact that Sen. Loserman was here at PSAB yesterday at the chow hall. Luckily, I was sitting all the way at the other end and couldn't hear him - didn't even see him all that much, thank goodness.

Now if he'd been in one of the serving lines when I came through, I would've gone to the other line... :D :D
