How can I tell who manufactured this AR15 barreled upper? The only markings I can find on it whatsoever are: C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7 HBAR on the top side of the barrel. Are there small little manufacturer markings somewhere else on it that I need to look closely for? Pics attached. Thanks for any help!

C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7 HBAR is Colt all the way.
C MP = Colt Magnetic Particle crack inspected.

HBAR is Colt = Heavy Barrel AR-15.

Both are all the way trade-marked by Colt.
Nobody else can use it.

But whether it's just a Colt barrel on someone else's upper is another matter??

^^^Beat me to it. The upper should have a forging mark which will tell you the company that forged the receiver.

Ibid. All of these receivers are forged by various sources using 7075 aluminum, which is then sent to the manufacturer for final machining and fitting. The production codes listed below are used by the various manufacturers as part of their quality control procedures for their forgings. These production codes can overlap between manufacturers, and cannot be counted on as the definitive source of origin - they do however make a good guideline.

There are also companies that put stylized symbols like anchors...cardinal heads...etc...on the upper receiver slightly below the rear part of the receiver near the carry handle just behind the shell deflector.

Our guys post on upper manufacturers. Be advised the forge company may not be the same company that finished machined the upper.
