I'm looking to get the exterior of the barrel of my CZ-75b hard chromed. I'd really prefer not having to ship it. Does anybody know someone in the Dallas/Fort Worth area who offers that for a reasonable price?

And does anyone have any suggestions as to other internals that might benefit with some chrome?

Call Armoloy in Ft. Worth. Last contact info I have is:

Armoloy Co., 204 E. Daggett St., Fort Worth, TX 76104
(817) 332-5604

May not be current, but should give you a start.

IMO, the best way is to get the whole piece done. The slide, frame and all of the action parts should be treated. Springs obviously can't be, but all of the other parts will benefit both in reduced friction and greatly increased resistance to wear and corrosion. FWIW, they used to be able to plate the bore and chamber, too. Highly recommended.

I have a custom S&W 1917 snubbie they did thirty-odd years ago. It still looks great and works even better.

My dad owned a machine shop all of my young life in the Ft Worth area and we used to take our taps there to be Armaloy plated. Thats good stuff. Taps were used on cast iron parts and the plating doubled their life.
