Anyone have specifically the S&W response or FPC? I also like the PSA PX9. I have been going back and forth on an AR and after some thinking i have come to the conclusion that maybe a PCC would be more beneficial. Cheaper ammo, i can use it for club shooting games in the summer and it would be good for HD.

I only have experience with HI Point and the AK 9mm so I’m wondering has anyone bought one and hated it? How’s accuracy out to 50yards?

I can't help you with those as I have a couple of the original. Before PCC was even a term. a 357 lever marlin, and a marlin "camp 9".

Both are huge fun to shoot. And yes much more inexpensive then a "real" rifle cartridge.

Sorry I can't be more help, but I think you are going to find people say they are one of the most fun guns that they own.

I have a Ruger PC40 that has been reliable and accurate for me at 50 yards or less. I haven't tried it at ranges further than that. Unfortunately They stopped making the 40 caliber model for some reason but you might still find one that was traded in or at a pawn shop. I don't know if the 9mm version is the same.

Yes but mostly leverguns. I don't employ one in that role but I do think they make a better home defense gun than one chambering a rifle cartridge. To me, noise is a huge factor. Both in the moment and long term. The concussive blast of a rifle can be disorienting and you're definitely going to be deaf for a few days, if not permanently. A lot of people spout some macho rhetoric basically saying, "deal with it" but that's BS. I'm 49yrs old. My ears are already ringing from shooting without ear protection and riding a motorcycle without ear plugs. I have chronic headaches. If I shoot anything remotely louder than a .22LR with subs through a can, I have piercing pain. I sure as hell am not going to light off a 5.56 in a confined space without hearing protection. Life or death or not, I still have to live with the aftermath and I'll save my ears if I can.

Oooohh what is that?

CZ Scorpion with about all the aftermarket crap I could throw at it. New forend, grip, mag release, safety, trigger, SB brace, PSA mags, Streamlight ProTac1, Magpul sling and a SIG Romeo4. The main gripes are the heavy trigger and the ambidextrous safety lever that is hugely uncomfortable.

There's a thread running currently on the S&W FPC

I have a Rossi 92 357mag lever action and a Ruger PC 9mm carbine:

I traded my CZ Scorpion to a buddy for a set of 5 Method Jeep wheels.

Had a '66 Ruger .44 mag semi LOL

Not a fan of handgun/rifle combo. Never was.
Rifle, I want rifle cartridge performance.

They do PCC matches and stuff, buds say they're a blast.
There are advantages to long guns aside from power. `Tis not the only difference.

Lots of PCC discussion in those

I own 2 Ruger PC Carbines and a S&W M&P FPC and love them.

I've had a Marlin Camp 9 and a PSA AR9.

Add me to the list of Camp 9 owners. Lots of fun. I also have an old model Ruger .44 Mag carbine, but wouldn't be my first choice to grab. Same woth my Rossi 92 in .45 Colt.

How do you like the Magpul stock? I’ve been looking at it for a while. Is it lighter?

It feels more handy. It's a smidge lighter. You can compare weights on the Ruger page as they now sell a Backpacker stocked PC 9.
What I notice most is the butplate doesn't hang up on my clothing when shouldering the rifle like the original did.

I haven't shot any of the 3 you mentioned but I've had several 9mm PCC's. I've had a hi point 995, a CMMG banshee, a sub 2000 in 40 s&w, and I've shot a few others. They are great fun. The one I currently have is an AR9 with a PSA colt magazine lower. I have a 10" unsuppressed upper and a 5" suppressed upper and I have a scheel manufacturing roller delay buffer in it. My AR9 shoots like a 3" group at 100. My high point was probably a 5" group at 100. Never really shot any of the others for accuracy. Just sighted them in and shot steel.

I honestly thought about getting a Hi Point but figure once i put a different (CX4 type) stock on it i would be S&W money so why not do it right the first time. I already have about 10 M&P mags too so kinda makes sense to me. I shot some sort of AK looking PCC the other day in a rapid fire drill and immediately said i gotta have something like this. Probably going today to pick up a Response.

I had the CX4 lookalike stock on mine. They are a lot of fun and they work okay, but it took me about a month before I was ready to have something of better build quality. I’m glad I got it because it opened the door for me to see how much fun they are. The response seams like a logical choice if you have M&P mags already.

I have been a HUGE fan of them since LONG before they became common. Currently have 6. I love all of them for different reasons but, they are certainly not for everyone. The market for these now days is booming so a LOT of great ones made. I long ago decided to make all of mine share one thing, mags. The AR's, the Ruger, the Kel-Tec, the TNW's, all use Glock mags. That way saves a LOT on buying mags.

I own one; a 9mm Ruger PC carbine that I picked up in 2018. Pretty neat gun, is accurate within 9mm distances, works well, is fun, and would make a nice home defense weapon. Switched mine to the Glock mag well, as I already have a Glock 19. Tried a Holographic sight on it for awhile but took it off because at 50 yards and less, where it gets the most use, the standard iron sights work great. But that integral rail atop the receiver is great for scopes, red dots, aperture sights, etc., if desired. Along with the charging handle being capable of mounting on either the left or right side.

I started off with a Hi-Point 9mm in the original flavor and thought it was a really fun gun. I gave it to my oldest son and he still has it. I bought it around 1999 IIRC. I have also owned owned a Rossi 357. Now I own a Marlin in 357 and Marlin in 44 mag plus a Marlin Camp Carbine. On the Camp Carbine I added a new Black Jack buffer and 17lb Wolfe recoil spring and also have a 21lb spring if I want to shoot extra hot loads. But I am happy with just full power factory style loads.

The trajectory is similar to shooting a 22lr round from a rifle. I can make 200 yard hits on a mans torso but you need to elevate the muzzle a bit to do it. Out to 125 yards hits are easy. The gun is a hoot to work with. I would have no problem depending on it in a survival situation. My buds son killed his first deer with his Camp Carbine. The range was a little over 40 yards. After the shot the deer ran in a half circle about 40 yards and died. The deer never got out of sight. My bud said that blood was spurting out of the entrance and exit holes. He used a 124gr soft point in that load.

The 9mm can't begin to compete with the 357 in the power department. The extra case capacity makes the 357 a more powerful round than the 9mm. And with the lever action you can load very mild to full power loads and the gun will always work. The 357 can shoot a 125gr bullet in the 2000fps range and the 9 can only get around 1300fps at the most with a 124gr bullet. If that matters to you.

I would really like one of the Ruger 9mm rifles. I wish they offered one that was not a take down version. That would be my choice.

Hmmm. You're already considering an AR, want to participate in PCC shooting games, and home defense is a possibility. It sure seems like an S&W Response or the PSA PX9 is the better answer than the FPC.

Nothing against the FPC here, but it seems more like it's focus is for packing or incognito transport.

And yes, I have PCCs. A Beretta CX4 and a Marlin 1894. The 9mm Beretta gets the call for home defense over the .357 1894 in my house.

I had a Marlin 9 but sold it at a good profit

I have 5 pcc

Hi Point 9mm, the original, shoots 5" or less at 100 yds.

Hi Point 45, not as accurate as the 9mm but will get the job done at 100 yds.

Ruger 9mm, convenient break down, I have a red dot on it and shoots 4" or less at 100. Feels like a M1 carbine

Kel Tec Sub 2000 9mm, ergonomics not so good, very compact, shoots about the same as Hi Point

Rossi R92 357, the most powerful of them, I found that with it zeroed for 158 gr at 100 its also zeroed for Federal 147 fr +p+ 38s at 50.

Had a Camp 9. Trigger was atrocious. Have a Marlin 1894 in .44 Magnum but no handgun for the caliber. KelTec Sub2000 2.0 is fun at the range with some mods.
