Who should be the next NRA leader?

People keep suggesting people who are celebrities (Ted Nugent, Candace Owens, Colin Noir, Tom Selleck, etc.) for the position of Executive Vice President without realizing that this is a CEO position that calls for less of a public face and more business acumen.

Elect a president like Charlton Heston, but let the day to day work be done by a savvy businessman.
Yeah, I thought Colin Noir would be good, but thought WLP’s job description was something different than it is, apparently.

We need normal and sane people that can articulate a cause and not be a talking head for their bigger alliances that can be super controversial
The reality is that in politics bigger alliances are a fact of life.if you can't accept that, you might as well just turn in your guns right now.

Besides, for the most part the bigger alliances are all about freedom which is mostly what the 2A is about.

Politics is not a perfect business and is often messy.

What bigger alliances are you afraid of? Lower taxes, less federal government? Enforcing ALL the rights and restrictions on government power enumerated in the first ten amendments?

Colion Noir (Collins Lyare Idehen Jr.) is not a celebrity of the likes you're citing. He's an attorney, licensed to practice in Texas, and his bar card number is 24072498. Apparently he specializes in firearms law and civil rights litigation.

Yes, he is a well known public advocate for the RKBA, and does have some celebrity notoriety for that...but ONLY for that, not as a Hollywood or sports celebrity. So I wouldn't put him in the same category.

Not, of course, that this defacto makes him a "savvy businessman". But I'd say that he's far more savvy on that subject than other commonly known celebrities.

This may be crazy talk, but . . . what about Elon Musk?

He's not going to be susceptible to bribery and kickbacks. He clearly knows how to operate a corporation. He may not be super pro-gun like we'd like in an NRA boss, but based on his own words he's not anti-gun at all (he has praised the 2nd Amendment).

You need someone who is gun knowledgeable, business savvy and NOT a political zealot wedded to one party, unable to be critical of faults. Not spouting divisive cliches in order to maximize money from one demographic. Also a good speaker and not looking like a nutjob when they are in a public forum.

Most of the people listed above would perhaps be a good choice for President of the NRA but not the Executive Director.
You need someone who is gun knowledgeable, business savvy...
Right. The executive director is a business position--you want someone with a really good background in running a big company. Ideally they would do their job well and almost no one would know who they were. The President is more of a publicity spot.

With the qualifications some of you are requiring, the only qualified candidate knew nothing of guns, but did recommend to his close friends to buy a sword, even if it meant going a bit underdressed. 🙄
I would put forth Larry P. Arnn, but I doubt he'd want the job.

What party should he be wedded to? The one that is 100% anti-freedom on every other issue?

Life members elect the BOD as it is. And they keep reelecting the same bunch of WLP apologists.
I read that WLP approves who runs for election on the BOD. So who ever you vote for, already made a pledge of allegiance to WLP

Normally a nominating committee made up of board members makes the nominations.

There is a fairly tedious procedure by which someone can be nominated in another way bypassing the nominations committee. I don't think it is used all that often.

well they can iron out out their 150 years of corruption and if you good folks want to joint them, have at it.

My money goes to SAF & GOA… once they start stealing money, I’ll find somewhere else too.
