I finally got my Hi-point 995 the other day.
Spent about 4hrs tearing down and figuring out all the guts (it only took that long because I detail stripped it, then realized I didn't know how to put it back together ).
And took it out to the range yesterday.
My first impression is that it's really really is fugly, but it feels solid and works as it's designed to. Trigger feels a bit sluggish but not too terrible, the finish is nothing to brag about, and the mag can be kinda annoying; but, nothing that I can't really overlook. I fed it 50 rounds of Independence and 90 rounds of WWB and it gnawed through all of it without a hiccup. I ordered 2 more mags for it yesterday and I think I'm going to ATI stock next month or so. Overall a pretty good range toy for under 200.
